Over last few weeks
Porcupine Tree -Deadwing deluxe (3CD/Blu-ray)
Uriah Heep - Colour & Chaos
Miles Davis - Sketches of Spain
Bauhaus - Crackle
Roxanne - Stereo Typical
Unicorn - Shed No Tear
Yes - Fragile (clear vinyl)
Pre ordered
Blackfield - An Accident of Stars 2004 - 2017 (6CD / 1 DVD)
Here we go .... again....
Yes - Mirror to the Sky (the bundle of the 2CD and the green vinyl...no cheaper than buying separately though) Not getting the deluxe this time - don't need a blu ray with instrumental mixes or the album in 5.1 atmos or hi res, and don't need a book. After last time and the bore-fest of an album that was The Quest, at least maybe I can flip the green vinyl (ltd to 500). But then again it could be great and I end up keeping both...but then again I've been hoping for that for years....but then again I might be paying people to take the vinyl off my hands if it is pants again...but then again I'm really hoping (against the odds?) I get to keep both.
...... BUT THEN AGAIN - compared to The Ice Bridge from the last album which was the standout track and the lead off track AND the pre-released song, the current pre-released song from this - Cut From the Stars - just sounds OK, not sold on it YET, it starts well enough but then seems to meander a little - preferred Ice Bridge so I'm hoping this isn't the best track. Soundwise I'm sorry but I still think this band is slowly turning into a wimpy version of World Trade probably due to Billy Sherwood's distinctive bass playing and still Jon Davison's vocals are missing something, but do sound a little better - I think it's just a lack of "depth" or maybe a perceived feel that he's always holding back that makes me feel they are unconvincing.
Are Yes supposed to make you feel tense????????????????

Mine just arrived. Was number #887. The bonus hand-signed postcard from the band members was a nice touch.

It was a bit - but having said that I'm not buying much new stuff as there's nothing much that really interests me these days with regards new bands or even some older ones, for example I'm kind of over Queensryche apart from the stuff I already have so won't be bothering with their newie - I didn't bother with their last either. I'm not rushing out buying new bands no matter how great the reviews are. So I find the cash is kind of building up from "my spends" and so I'm just getting things I would REALLY like and I love Starz and I really fancied that set - if you had asked me a few years back I would have laughed my head off at paying what I did but my whole mindset seems to have changed. At some point I'll probably unload my Rykodisc versions of the Starz stuff which may go towards paying for it - or it will top up the fund

Not my kettle of fish - I find they sound a bit "samey" but that's not a crime - I have the same deal with Black Stone Cherry. Just don't do much for me - I think the over familiarity of "Rockstar", "Hero" and "Photograph" played against them in certain quarters.
