  1. Hey Dan, I was wondering what's the verdict on the Eco Pro 2, now that you have used it for a longer period of time. I'm VERY tempted to buy one, but it's pricey, so I want to make sure it's worth it by watching videos on YouTube and asking users of this machine for their experience with it.

This is a comment on YouTube, reacting on a video and post from someone who was very complimentary about the Eco Pro 2:

"Doesnt matter if it looks alot better, 1min not enough to remove deep scratches, it will only remove surface ones which dont actually make the disc not work. I tried most of these expensive machines with consumable controls. They all end up working out too expensive to actually fix broken discs with heavy scratches. The best thing to do is use the JFJ to sand them then use these as the finisher as its harder on the JFJ to get a consitent finish since the pads break up and can leave buffing marks more easily. I cant remember which machine worked best with the JFJ but some of them dont repair close enough or far enough out on the disc to fully remove the sanding marks. If you're going to get an expensive machine I'd go for the disc go devil since there are no consumable controls. And a tip for anyone using any repair machine. You must wash the disc thoroughly afterwards or else in a few months time the disc will turn cloudy from minute amount of polish left on the disc. It might look perfectly clean but make sure to clean it several times with a clean cloth or it will turn white in a few months".

I know you haven't had this machine for months, but have you heard about the 'cloudy' thing this guy speaks of? Hope to hear from you and others about their experience/tips/where to buy 'cheap' etc.

Have fun Stefan....Just got back form my tour of the Highlands of Scotland which was amazing.

My girlfriend and I will be visiting Scotland in a month.

What did you do/see there? Any tips?

You must got to the West coast and maybe visit the islands, Mull, Arran, Skye or tour down the west side and go to Glencoe . This is the route we took over a week, 1600 miles in total and it was fabulous.

iF leykis did not road dis it must of bin dad sammccaslin dood, write ??!.

No Sir Maarten, LOL, Leykis spells absolutely fine, he is a little anal about his spelling, but that was an excellent jab none the less, I really appreciate your attempt, the approach was grand, timing was killer, and you really put it down there, making certain if you didn't hit that home run, you could still fulfill the bottom end of the insult by leaving it with a Leykis and Sam comparison, making certain you did not bomb the entire insult, that is good thinking, and a killer way to cover your rear end when going for the insult, I highly commend your thinking, good to meet you btw, my name Is Leykis101, if you'd like to insult me, you could go ahead and start a thread pounding on my "walls of texts" or start with my lack of periods, ok, that seems to be a good new one, people are enjoying, ok buddy, rock on.

R u sayin dad comparing you and sam = douchery?.

  5. Try this one Maarten: sunrecor@hotmail.es

If that one doesn't work, you tell me and the next time I pop in there, I'll ask them whether they do overseas orders.

More than a week has passed since I emailed them and I haven't received a reply. Please ask them about international orders next time you visit the store. Thanks!

  6. The production/sound quality of the original is far from perfect but still enjoyable. Reading your comment about the reissue, I think you will prefer the first pressing. They pop up on eBay and similar sites occasionally, but almost always expensive. Maybe someone here on HH is willing to sell you a copy for a reasonable price.

Yngwie - You Don't Remember, I'll Never Forget

    Great song.

    Surely!

And the reason it overshadows the rest of the album is because it's one of only two good songs on that whole album anyway. That and 'Queen is in love' are close to perfection on 'Trilogy;' the rest is crap.

I really liked that album when I was young! Haven't heard it for a long time and had to refresh my memory... I must agree, two good songs and the rest is standard, pedal-to-the-(neo classical)-metal, with weak chorusses.

My favorite Malmsteen album is 'Odyssey' and I wish he would hook up with another good vocalist with songwriting abilities. There were plans for a collaboration with Ronnie James Dio at one point. Too bad that didn't happen, as this could have resulted in some great Rainbow-meets-Sabbath music!

  8. Unless they've closed about the beginning of July, yep, it's still open. What address have you tried Maarten?

I used the one that is on the website: sunrecor@arrakis.es - should that be sunrecords@arrakis.es?

A friend of mine here in the Netherlands has mailed them several times, but never got a reply. He then asked a Spanish eBay seller about this, who told him Sun Records does not sell outside of Spain and ignores emails from abroad.

I did some CD trading with (I think it was) the owner of Sun Records at the Utrecht recordfair, but that was years ago and I haven't been in contact with him since then. Just recently I googled a CD I was looking for and found it at that website.

  9. I would rate them like this:

    1. Atlantic

    2. Passion Street

    3. Walk The Wire

A shame those bands never released a follow-up (unless I missed something...).

MalcolmTucker, off-topic - but since you are located there, is Sun Records in Madrid still in business? I tried to contact that store, but the email address provided on the site seems to be out of order.
