Retrospect Records strikes again.........
glam_junkie replied to Mullethead's topic in Retrospect Records
Without getting too involved in this topic, what i see from standing on the outside is people are not against this stuff being re-issued, but if it is re-issued with consent of the bands then why isn't it made widely available to all music lovers? Surely it is in the best interest of the band to sell 5 copies at $12 compared to 1 copy at $50. Is there anywhere we can go to pick up these releases for $10-12 a pop, or do we have to battle it out on an ebay auction where these often go for unrealistic prices? The fact that the only copies are auctioned on ebay doesn't really give the perception that these cds are re-issued to benefit either the band or the fans. If these were made availalbe to the general public then I think folks would be far more accepting of the whole re-issue thing. Just my 2c..... -
Hey Geoff, what can I expect when i reach 200 posts? Anything special... cheers Lindsay

Yeah, i know it can all be found here. There was a mail order service (Raggamuffin) run by someone I know a few years ago, and they ordered in copies of stuff like Alleycat scratch, Heart Throb Mob, Big Bang Babies, ... in there 100's so i believe you. I picked up Heart Throb Mob 'Eat Your Heart Out' for $5 at cash converters, and Alleycat Scratch 'Deadboys' for $15 through another trader.

Hot Boy... Rock Boulevard.... Big Bang Babies.... Surrender.... I heard they're all availalbe for a spare change on the 300+ board. Not to mention all those bands us plebs on this baord have never even heard. Apparently every review on the other board includes the phrase 'better than Friction'. Even better, you can sell you old worn copy of Bon jovi 'slippery when Wet' or Kiss 'Dynasty' for hundreds of dollars on the new board. I can't wait until i grow up!

I heard a whisper that once you reach 300 posts you graduate to the 'special' buy-sell-trade board where only 300+ posters can go. Tell me if its true, cos if it is ....it'll be a bigger discovery than if there is life after death!

Why do english batsmen always order the indian curry during the lunch break? It's the only way they can get the runs.

I am a bit of a beer addict and try every new and imported beer i see for sale. Once consumed i keep the bottle or can for my collection. Unfortunately last night I had what I would describe as the only beer in the 300-400 I have tried which was so disgusting that it was undrinkable. Since i didn't want it i offered it to my housemate who works at a bar and even he couldn't drink it. Down the sink it went. It was a 'dark' Belgian beer in a black bottle. Can't think of the name off the top of my head but if I remeber i;ll post it here next time I'm online as a beer to avoid at all costs... or try if you don't believe me.

Yes, it's all payback for the Simpson's episode where you guys took the piss out of us Australians. Anymore of that and we'll get the gov'na to pull out the big boot!

Yep, that's right I'm from Adelaide, USA (United States of Australia). cheers Lindsay

Cool it Dave! Saying stuff like that will have you burning bridges to your label before they're even built.

Reading those words carefully, does this mean that there is a possibility of a 'second' pressing of re-issues that will not be limited? cheers, Lindsay

A stat on Darren Gough on the cricket last night... On his last 14 'opening' bowling spells, he has taken a total of 4 wickets! Yeah, I think this spells of being washed up.

if it wasn't for the music 99% of folks would be in the 'collecting' game so I'd have to say music. But there does come a time when a cd can hold more 'value' due to what it's worth on ebay compared to what is on the disc. But i guess it's like any hobby, people will always question why. Why pay 100's of millions for the original Mona Lisa when you can buy an identicle replica at the local poster shop for $5..... why pay 1000's of dollars for a ticket to the superbowl when you can watch it on tv?

"Purplesleazycloudz" to "pinkfluffycloudz"... sounds too similar to think it's not the same seller. I think he'd have more accounts too as thepurplesleazycloudz account only has a history of buying, but I know for a fact that he was a seller aswell. Might check out his bididng and buying history and see if I can find anything.
