Trust me, I am the biggest of Tesla fans. Watched their DVD 1,000 times. They were one of the best bands out there. I even loved Bust A Nut, considered their worst disc.

But this is rubbish that I'm embarrassed to call Tesla. Same as the last few albums. Simplicity and the Def Leppard album were just so bad. They miss Tommy Skeoch I think.

Ok. I can understand your thinking regarding one`s favorite bands. In my case it was  Bon Jovi. First album I ever bought was Slippery, liked NEw Jersey even better. Saw them live few times, but after 1995 only some good songs on each album but still bought albums,  since Richie left I cant stand their latest albums or even live. So from that scenario I see that I am not just following my favorite bands regardles what they put out.

But in Tesla case I do stlll enjoy their releases, even those post 2010. A admit that Shock had some filler but also some of their best songs post 2000 like The Mission.   I do miss the heavier  element that Tommy brought. songs like  Dont de-rock me, Action talks.

  2. Now also the official video is out, recorded live in front of  large crowd in California.  This song seems to be a real grower. Was actually a bit disappointed after first 2 listens. But still played it few more times. And then it happened - when I was doing other things, without music, parts of song started playing in my head ;-).

  3. For me it is still to early for full review. I would say that the top songs here are not so good as the top 4-5 songs on self titled. But I think the less good songs here are more interesitng and demand more effort then the less good songs on prevoious one. But I just dont get reviews that say...Allison Kraus songs I just skip ? Back in the day when you waited months to buy just one LP or CD, there was no skipping. You listned to the songs you didnt like for days, weeks until you hopefully liked them more. So if you have an open mind and listen to song  like Lifeless, it has one of the more catchy pop choruses they wrote recently. I struggle more with piano ballads, not because of arrangments or piano but because they have not really memorale verses or choruses.I like rockers more, all are nice listen but almost nothin stands really special. Top tracks maybe Kick, and then From here to Eternity.

  4. New album is out for a week and no comments ?? Strangly I was disapponted after first listen, maybe not good to listen to it over headphones. More playing caused songs to grow a lot as I still need more time for it. It is different album than excellent The Serpent Rings. It is less epic, less different arrangments. But it has shorter, more to the point songs with several good or great choruses and BOb sounds great,  less raspy as few albums back. It is doing great in big German market as it is at #5 in general album chart there. It is #51 in UK.

  5. Hard to come up with list 1 to 10.

    Top 2 albums:

Thunder - I am usually a chorus guy. Choruses on this album are nothin special but almost ever song has some powerful, interesitng riff that is base of the song, good perfomrances and singign. And months after release I like it even more.

Art if Illusion - I never liked much singer Lars  in his other projects but songwriting and some over the top (queen style ) songs on this just gets me and it is great after several plays

    Tier 2:

W.E.T Retransmission - I thought when this came out this in album of the year. I still like it alot, just a little bit less.

Eclipse -Wired   As all Eclipse music this is high energy music good for workout. Maybe the formula is a bit repetiteive, but still some great choruses. Best part for me are quieter instrumental parts, like Bite the Bullet middle part, they are great complenmet to their usual powerful riffs and choruses.

Inglorious - We will ride. Not played this one much, respin put it on top 10 list. Despite some social media drama Nathan  is marvelous singer an on this album he finally get some fine hard rock songs to sing.

    Tier 3

Cruzh - Tropical Thunder : I instantly liked song We go together but didnt liked or listened the rest of album much. Before making the list I relistened and liked the rest of these 80s style cheesy songs enough to put it here

    Save the world - Two

Quite unknown band for me, but I liked the songs, classic rock, Boston etc style.

Nestor - Kids in a ghost town

Very popular everywhere. I didnt like much singles, It was vocals in Tomorrow that showed how great the singer is and the slower and mid tempo songs are the best on this one for me.

    Vega - Anarchy and unity

Propably most played albom of the year for me. I liked it a lot but after some months I like it much less.

Wig Wam - We will never die

There are many other albums that could take this place, but this is more probably most hard rock style of top 10.

    Albums outside of top10:

    Jeff Scott Soto Duets Collection

    Heartland

    Crowne

    Joseph Williams

    JAson Bieler

    Robim McAuley

    Robin Red

    Night Ranger

    Resist & Bite

    Robbie Leblanc

  6. They didnt change their sound that much. Style of songs is quite similar to their debut, and also the great voice of mr.Bowes sounds as fine as ever. Now compare that to some of thrir peers from 1990. And they are one of the rare bands of this genre in Europe, that coul fill some arenas , at least in the UK.

  7. For some reason I never could get into bands with Säfsund: Work of Art, Lionville. I tried to listen to some songs but it does nothing for me. But I am not against keyboard AOR, I love Toto and Joseph Williams solo stuff.  I am aware of Grand Illusion, not a big fan but I listened to full albums. So after few listens to this project I will return to it, I like it better than Säfsund other bands.

  8. Even before Vega I liked some songs that Martin brothers wrote for other projects. But then I tried, listened on youtube or streams but it was too little to make me a fan or buy album, actually I found the singers voce a little annoying. So the other day after listening to some other songs, the youtube went on auto play and I took notica about some catchy chorus. It was Vega:Dont fool yourself.  And now the full album is here and I can hardly find a bad song on it, it is such joy to listen to it every day, hooks, very good production , more hard guitars than before and the vocals I learned to appreciate.    _Next step will be to  concentrat on their older work, if I will like it more now. A big surprise for me, but probably one of my top 5 albums of the year.

  9. there are so many unknown variables. I read article there are over 100 private and national teams each developing its own vaccine. But even if we get a good efficient vaccine, there are already lots of people claiming this is conspiracy, they dont accept mandatary vaccine, so how many % of population be vaccinated ? efficient app would help a bit as South Korea apparently has it, but again people in West would unlikely use it in large %.

  10. it is different, the live vibe from spectators  and banter among band members is a bit missing but it is better performed and recorded. Vocals and especially backvocals are excellent, just listen to them on Forever loving you or Love song.

  11. I have mixed response to HS discography. United was my best album of that year, not really liked Thirteen. So expectations were high for this one. Afer first list to Change the world I was very dissapointed, liked just a song or 2. But I still come back to it every second day or so and slowly it is starting to grow on me. I doubt it will reach United status but Top 10 is very likely.
