Are you sure you don't want to consider changing that choice to something like Heartland or Seven Ravens before anyone else sees it? Just kidding, "Lonesome Road" and "Forever Wild" sound pretty cool. I've not listened to the album yet, but I did enjoy some tracks off "Perfect Sin". So I'll plan on checking this one out.
-
both songs sound great to me, has there been a release date given for the album?
-
If you haven't heard the original versions of the songs I'd recommend giving the band's first 4 releases a listen, some really good songs in their discography. "A Matter of Attitude" and "Scratch 'N Sniff" are two of my all time favorite albums.

I thought so too, great game though

The shift in style just isn't clicking for me. If I want to listen to synthwave there are plenty of bands who do it better. I was really looking forward to a new release from these guys after the 5 year wait. So I'll still give the album a few spins in hopes it will grow on me. But based on the first few tracks I'll probably be passing on this one

After watching the lopsided wild card round it was good to watch a couple hard fought playoff games. On the downside, with the Titans and Packers losing it paves the way for the rematch of last years SB that martinsane predicted. I'd rather not watch Brady or Mahommes in the SB again this year. So I'll be rooting for the Bills and the Rams today. I can't see the Bungles or Jimmy G pulling off road upsets again next week.
-
yeah, so much for my thoughts that the Patriots could pull off the road win, Bills have completely dominated in the first half
-
I agree with those underdogs having a decent shot an upsets, I'd also add the Patriots, especially with the weather being less than ideal in Buffalo

I agree, I'm familiar with Joe Rogan and have seen some clips of his, but have never listened to any of his podcast episodes. But as usual a story like this seems way overblown just to try to bring someone down for no other reason then he has a big following and questions a narrative. He stated something that was based on studies that have shown some young males experience myocarditis after receiving the vaccine. And the other person cited another study that didn't contradict what Joe said but rather added context. The story doesn't even say whether that other study has been thoroughly peer reviewed or anything like that. So we have one person citing a study and another citing another study. If that means he's constantly spreading misinformation than I'd say just about every news outlet, politician and even some health experts have done the same over the last two years when it comes to covid.

ROUGH CUTT - RHYTHM MACHINE (the Perry McCarty Years)
Crazysam replied to lettard's topic in AOR and Hard Rock
That does sound interesting. While I recall Matt and Amir going on to Jailhouse, I wasn't aware Rough Cutt had recorded material with another singer after Shortino left. Hard to fill Paul's shoes but McCarty was a good vocalist in his own right. -
Girish & The Chronicles - Hail To The Heroes
Crazysam replied to Stefan's topic in AOR and Hard Rock
The new track shows a nice step up in the songwriting department. But as with their prior material it's Girish's vocals that really stand out. -
One of a handful of journalists that became synonymous with hard rock & metal over the years. Thanks to him and other music magazine contributors during the 80's and early 90's I was able to stay informed on my favorite artists and new acts. May he rest in peace.

"I hate the name Warrant. Don't ask me why they picked it. I've heard conflicting stories that one of the original members really liked Warren DeMartini. I heard they used to dress like cowboys and carry badges. Warrant is such a blasé name. When I joined the band, they already had the name, but I wish we were called anything else" - Jani Lane (1990)

That's my favorite as well

I think the title track is the song you're thinking of. There was a demo recorded in the late 80's by the band Fire who had a female lead singer (Jessie Galante). Both "No No Nikki" and "King of Thieves", which are bonus tracks on this release, were part of that Fire demo session. I think the connection is guitarist Michael Guy, as he was involved with both bands.

I gave this and the new Eclipse album a spin today. While I am a big fan of Eclipse, I enjoyed this album a bit more. The only song that didn't really click for me was the title track. Not a bad song by any means, just didn't stand out like the others. I'm sure it will end up in my top 10 for 2021.

Nice, the original cd was getting hard to find. Now it'll be more affordable and includes a few bonus tracks to boot.

Article: The albums after Grunge hit
Crazysam replied to auslander's topic in General Music Discussion
Thanks for sharing. There were some nice little insights in that, like Bob Rock pushing Skid Row to alter their sound during the recording of Subhuman Race. But also some painful reminders of bands' lowlights. Those were dark days for melodic rock fans with bands breaking up, jumping on the Grunge bandwagon or being dropped by the record companies. Still, there were also some great albums released, like Pull, Still Climbing, Vicious Circle, Move on It, Psychoschizophrenia, and Spooked to name a few.- 1 reply
