A couple from the killer "Roxy Blue" debut.
One of my favourite albums that I think may be generally underrated.

When it comes to press releases, a lot of bands these days "talk the talk" when it comes to capturing the 80s.
These guys definitely "walk the walk".
Can't wait for this one.

Agreed on both counts.
Seems he could have just as easily called the project Downing and that would have been that.
Spot on.
Pretty much anything without "Priest" in the name.

Killer stuff, but I think he's doing himself a disservice with the Band name.

Juice Newton - Queen of Hearts.
I can't begin to tell you how big this song was for me in '81, when I was 9.

I know I already asked you this Rob, LOL is that your real last name, or a stage name?
When I was a youngster in school I was devastating at coining "Nick Names".
No offense Rob, but if we went to school together, you would always be known as "Rob Grabcock".

I'm finding myself in not only a Country mood, but also a Western mood.
When it comes to old school/new school transition, Mid 80s Dwight Yoakam was as good as it gets.

Really like that, it's basically westcoast AOR...
Yeah, I've always felt that Country music from all eras has never been that far removed from the music that we all love in some form.

Not really a fan of old school country but i love new country artists which for me is basically melodic rock/aor with a country twang.
What do you think of this one from 1983?
An old school classic, but not as old as my previous posts.
Ronnie Milsap was a legendary artist at the time. A blind Country music Pianist/Vocalist.
I've always loved this track.

Yep, spot on.

This is genre that I love, but I'm not as up to date as I should be with the recent stuff, so I'm gonna stick with the old school shit I grew up with.
This is a Country song for sure, but Gene Pitney was more of a Pop artist at the time. Had some Legendary tracks.
BTW, if you haven't seen the movie, then do so immediately!

I'm enjoying your contributions to all the "Song of the Day" threads mate.
BTW, to all the youngsters out there, this is the way to build your post count.

"Bachelor Party" will always be one of my favourite movies of all time.

I really don't give too much of a shit about this dumb argument, but damn, are you seriously presenting those figures for any kind of use at all?
Let me edit....When Trump took office in 2017 unemployment rate was 4.7%.
covid hit and bent every country in the world over and fucked them in the asses
When Trump left office in 2021 unemployment rate was 6.7%
which would have been far worse if he had locked shit down more. I actually think he should have locked everything down more. This would have made unemployment far worse, but he didn't want to screw the economy that much so didn't. But rightly or wrongly, unemployment when he left office WOULD have been far hight had Biden been around then.Right now unemployment rate is 6.1%
You think a few months of Biden has changed that?
Aside from the residual changes from the Trump administration that flow through to the next, there is a natural recovery as the country recovers.
thos stats you posted mean nothing. Nothing at all.EXACTLY!

Johnny Horton - Comanche (The Brave Horse).
This one is really old school.
"Comanche", BTW, was the name of General Custer's horse.
I love the way the "beat" slows then stops at the end to signify his death.
I loved this track when I was little.

Well I'm always under the perception I know everyone in here, and if I said something that truly offended anyone, they wouldnt hesitate to PM me or just tell me out on the board hey that's fucked up, and it offends me, I mean I would hope they would, as I state often, I consider the people on here friends, and If someone figured out a way to offend me, I'd certainly tell them hey man, thats fucked up, but I guess I dont take things offensively, I believe what I believe, If I have a problem with you i'll say it, on PM, as I will not call someone out in a rude manner on the boards, and I will be the first to stick up for people getting hammered on, which thankfully doesnt go on here, but it does go on daily on FB, and Twitter, did I mention I'm banned on twitter, lol, im fully aware of the things I say, but I never try to personally insult anyone, if your black, I take you as a person, but that doesnt mean I will not call out the bullshit going on by BLM, as they have made it about race, and race only, if your gay, or trans, or LGBTQRSP, great, I'm very liberal towards that shit, but I still use the classic vocabulary, and cause I call someone a fag, or gay, doesnt mean I mean their homosexual, and the origin of those words dont sit on anything to do with homosexuality, they were hijacked, I dont say anything on here I dont say on FB or Insta, and I do get punished sometimes, but if your homosexual, and I hurt your feelings, tell me, if your offended by me, tell me, I dont read minds. Sorry Dan if I'm really the reason you feel that numbers of dwindled, I'll own it, and fix it.
Well said mate. Like you, I was a bit disappointed that someone complained to Dan.
I'm hoping they were "non regulars".

You may not realize (or not care) that there are people here who sometimes find it offensive. I've gotten complaints.
I'm stunned by this.

Another one I've posted before, but it deserves to be in this thread.
As i've stated previously, this is an a cappella group and every sound you hear is done vocally. Mind blowing talent!
This is another great example of "Dark Country".

I look forward to enjoying and not commenting on many more of your threads as always.
I think i've mentioned it before, but just because there isn't a comment, doesn't mean it wasn't appreciated.

I've always loved "The Cult" and they have some great tracks.
I do however, have a soft spot for this one.
Another band that's hard to define. I would classify them as Hard Rock, but I reckon they're borderline Sleaze. Very much like "Aerosmith".

I can't stop listening to those tracks.
Hopefully this album should be big.
