A couple from the KILLER! "Blue Murder" debut.
Could you imagine what sort of incredible stuff we would have had if Coverdale and Sykes actually liked each other.
I think the names "Appice" and "Franklin" combined with "Sykes" would make "Blue Murder" worthy of "Supergroup" contention for sure.

Just off the top of my head, The Power Station's (Andy Taylor and Robert Palmer) version of T-Rex's "Bang a Gong (Get it On)." Although I do respect the great work of Marc Bolan.
"T-Rex" is great.
We owe a lot to Marc Bolan when it comes to our music.
Another one taken tragically early.
BTW Doug,
Are you the same Doug who posts comments regularly on the main site?

Was hoping rot a VH cover, instead I got bubblegum 80's pop...
Ha!
Yeah, the VH track was the first thing I thought of as well.
.
U just 81 and I just 812.

This seems to be an obscure Aussie band thread, so here's another one.
"Mi-Sex" from the late 70s/early 80s, still pop up every now and then on the radio down here.
These two tracks are huge "time machines" for me.
I'm sure all the Aussies here of my vintage would agree.

Black Swan's debut was one of my faves for that year, but I have been thinking it was a one and done due to hearing nothing since. I'd love a follow up!
Yep.
A worthy contender for the Supergroup thread.

Supposedly there will be a new XYZ cd released in 2022.....
Interesting.

A nice acoustic version of "Pump It".
There's no denying their talent.
These guys are growing on me.

All bands are made up of members from former bands.
Not sure I would class Mr Big as a supergroup.
My first thought was Damn Yankees.
Slash did some great stuff.
Also wouldn't class Sammy Hagar's post VH groups as supergroups. Except Chickenfoot who ironically I don't rate nearly as much as the Wabos etc
Sixx AM?I was gonna mention Slash.
Not sure if it's better than GNR, but it's good shit.
He was certainly the break out member of that group post split up and rightly so.

I just posted a track from this album in another thread and it reminded me that "Chameleon" is the best "Helloween" album hands down!!!

Helloween - Giants.
The solo starts at the 3:45 mark.
The intro isn't too shabby either.

"Bang Tango" was one of those bands back in the day that I never really got into.
"Faster Pussycat" was another one.
The music from both bands was top notch, but the vocals were a bit too rough.

Gary Hughes - There By The Grace Of The Gods (Go I)
The transition in the chorus from "Grace Of The Gods" to "Wake Of The Gods" is brilliant.
Don't forget, true Satanism isn't about Evil, it's about opposition.
According to the strict definition, every Country's opposition Government are "Satans".

The ones you mentioned are right up there.
"Shadow King" comes to mind for me when it comes to a true "Supergroup".
I think there may be another thread along these same lines where we established that the term is very much over used.

ADV's involvement in projects doesn't bother me.

This one popped up in my recommendations today.
I know Blue Man Group's stage show was hugely popular at the time, but I think today was the first time I'd actually seen any of it.
I have to say, it's pretty awesome.

On a similar theme to your post, has anyone ever accidentally damaged or destroyed a beloved CD?
This wasn't an accident, but back in the day, my best friend and his wife (who I was also great friends with) had quite the tumultuous marriage shall we say.
They're not together now, but back in '93 during an argument, my mates wife went over to his CD collection, randomly pulled out "XYZ - Hungry" and proceeded to snap the disc in half.
He was devastated.

Don Dokken - Up From the Ashes.
I'd also add Lou Gramm's first two solo albums.

When talking about Epic guitar solos, "W.A.S.P. - The Idol", is right up there for me.

"Do you remember standing on the shore?"...
..."Bound for Glory"...
... "but the Ocean is deeper than it seems".
