  1. Talking about John Farnham recently made me dig up this old thread. This really would have been a great album.
  2. Yeah, I've always thought that the Bee Gees being Aussies is a bit of a stretch. Crowded House is another band that we consider Australian, but many may consider as a New Zealand band, although I did hear Neil Finn in an interview regarding that, and he said that the band was formed in Melbourne, so there you go. Yes, Mel Gibson is as Australian as Russell Crowe, but you're on thin ice with your AC/DC comments. That's borderline heresy down here mate.
  3. A nice short YouTube clip from 2020 featuring David Coverdale. I don't know what's more impressive, his voice or his hair.
  4. If there are any non Aussies here who haven't heard the John Farnham album "Whispering Jack", then you should give it a spin. There's a reason why it's ranked number one. It's a Great slice of 80's AOR/ Pop. He was the King of Australia in '86 when it was released and he's arguably still our favourite son. Either him or Dave Warner. Just a little Aussie in-joke.
  5. Welcome aboard mate. Hunting ghosts sounds interesting.
  6. I'm actually very surprised that "The Wiggles" aren't on that list.
  7. I agree about Midnight Oil, some of their early stuff is iconic, but very self righteous. I love Cold Chisel though. INXS is definitely a National treasure, but well known throughout the world as AC/DC is. I reckon our version of Popeda would probably be something like "Skyhooks" or maybe "Hunters and Collectors". There's a few actually.
  8. Brian May and Tony Iommi. I wish this three and a half minute video went for three and a half hours. The last minute is EPIC!
  9. Nice, but a white Lamborghini Countach just screams 80's for me.
  10. Interstate 74 - Wolf. Lucian, Luke, Lucas, etc (He has many names). He loves this one.
  11. A great FFM ballad. I also know of many, many magnificent FFM videos... but that's for another thread.
  12. I think you will. Listen to all the tracks. I'll be interested to hear your opinion.
  13. Yeah, I kinda wish it wasn't the case, but I just can't get into foreign language stuff. It's a shame cause there's some great foreign stuff that's musically killer, particularly from Japan.
  14. One from 15 years ago that slipped under my radar. These guys are from Brazil and are classified as Power Metal, but it's more than that. There's a lot of melody. This is a concept album and I'm getting huge "Gary Hughes - Once and Future King" vibes. Here's 6 tracks. It's good stuff.
  15. I always forget about this one. A great track from a great album by the epitome of a Supergroup. I remember get this one when it was released. As stellar as the line up is, it was Bob Kulick's involvement that sealed the deal for me, coming hot off the heels of "The Crimson Idol".
  16. Never heard of Popeda and the non English vocals are a deal breaker for me, but with Olli joining, I'll be interested to see if their new material is in English.
  17. I cannot comprehend the amount of talent, coordination, dexterity and everything else on show in this video. A couple of weeks ago at work, I hit my finger with a hammer FFS.
  18. Well, I know how hard that is for a CD collector. Fortunately, as a music lover in this day and age, it doesn't mean you have to miss out on the music.
  19. Mate, To have your daughter performing in a band alongside some of the artists mentioned is EPIC!!! I can only imagine how proud you are. Nice one.
  20. Their first two albums are right up there with the best of them.
