  1. My daughters band, Ablaze, dropped their new single this morning. Clip is coming soon.
  2. I think Nuno makes the song. Rare for guitar to be the big shining light to a song and I think it happens here. Also I love hearing stuff that breaks the normal tried and tested breakdowns.
  3. That album was pretty mid. When one of your fav tracks is Is That All You Want? it says a bit. So far the new stuff is catchier. Hoping for a Roxanne type revival.
  4. I can compare Metallica to ABBAcomparing two bands with the same singer is easier, especially when they are in the same genre.
  5. I have an answer. The weird stuff from The Doors. I'm ok with most of their stuff, but that psychedelic weird shit really gets to me. Can't see any appeal.
  6. I haven't heard the album yet. Been working up in Sydney pretty lonmg hours so no chance to hear much at all. As for this song on first listen. Yeah, it's pretty average. But so is a lot of stuff released these days. Edit: near the end of tyhe song now and I'm wondering if it will end up being catchy.
  7. Bluuuugh Only watched in case there was boob. And I knew there wouldn't be, but watched to the end anyway - just in case
  8. Oooh, I should have posted this in unpopular decisions. I did say 'tgese days'obviously some HS albums are legendary and amazing, but if I could only buy one album of HS or FS that was being released on the same day, if go got FS.
  9. Also, I really enjoyed The Girl With Golden Eyes again. Always liked the song, but I appreciated what he did there. I've even grown to not hate the speaking bit in the middle...
  10. So I went out with my son who is a big Sixx AM fan (via me) so I put my mix on in the car. Turns out he was skipping some of the later songs, and I realised that there were a couple of albums where I had picked the best songs for my mix, but never really took the time to let them get into my system properly. So a couple of things. Modern Vintage has some really killer songs Hyperventilate, Gotta Get It Right, Let It Haunt You, Before It's Over Love the diversity of the songs on this album. Likewise Prayers For The Blessed/Damned are also a lot better than I remember Riot In My Head and Helicopteres are killer tracks particularly right at the end of the 2nd album. Sad I never got a chance to see them live.
  11. Yep. Always worry when my expectations are so high, but that song is really good on first listen.
  12. Maiden - Live After Death Scorps _ World Wide Live Tesla - 5 Man Kiss - Alive I, II & III Kiss - MTV Twisted Sister - Hammersmith The Angels - Liveline VH - Without A Net (not sure if this was a CD, only have the VHS) all that comes to mind
  13. Nice, Know nothing about this band, or much about the bands they are from, but quailty stuff. Imma get it.
  14. To be fair, the dude has to earn a living. WL are up there with Skid Row and the like as far as fans who want a reunion, so maybe he will make a few $$$ So good on him, gotta do what he needs to do to put bread on the table. But not for me. Love WL as it was, and now it pales. Sounds a lot lkike Mike's solo stuff vibe, and I love a lot of his solo stuff as well. If I went to see him, I'd wanna hear pretty much all solo stuff that suits his voice better now, with a couple of WL tracks thrown in for fun. Live no problems, but a live album... nope. That said, it's pretty rare for me to be interested in live albums. They peaked with Live After Death and World Wide Live. Been all downhill since then.
  15. Just came here to post the same thing. Very excited for this.
  16. Meh, I'll give this a go is others here are raving about it. A few good songs and one great one off the debut, nothing much to speak of since.
  17. Yeah, it's kind of a red flag now. I appreciated you mentioning that it was the same crowd. Allowed me to hold off, in case this type of thing happened, which is did. More inclined to wait for the night of the show if one ever goes ahead and buy a ticket at the door. Happy to risk missing out by not getting in early. Thank god Skid Row was rescheduled, as some tickets for the sold out Melbourne show became available, which is snagged
  18. It was Todd Chaisson. George DeSaint left the band with Todd in 1991 after an incident where Jorge was teasing one of the crew about being 'clean' and with a line of coke. Todd came back, Jorge didn't. My ideal Euro line up at the moment would be (following Glamfest with 6 internationals) Kissin' Dynamite The New Roses Bai Bang Dynazty Wig Wam The Poodles Dangerous Curves - as the local act
  19. The promoters should not be applauded for delivering what they said, that should be expected. This was Silverback who weren't part of the fiasco regardless. What the promoters should hear is how the sound was very average and that they need to get it right next time. Stevie posted about the shows and asked fro good and bad feedback, so I gave him that. Once I sooked online on a Silverback post that their shows always have too many local acts which reduce the sets of the main acts (which generally are +/- hour - Pop Evil, Corabi does MC94, etc) and they just deleted it rather than hearing an opinion.
