  2. Yeah, while I'm not really bothered with their newer stuff, they managed to do what they needed to to sell music and stick around in a fairly strong way. Possibly moved with their aging female fans and made the music the 50 year old moms wanted to hear....
  3. I'm not a big BJ fan anymore (of the band that is) But I am more than happy to admit that I was a huge fan up until just before Crush What pisses me off is all those who say they always hated BJ. At some point, MOST people at least liked Livin' on A Prayer or You Give Love or Dead Or Alive
  4. Can't find the clip on YouTube so I'll Facebook page link. The Guitar Players Collective - The Guest Rapper Killed the Guitar Solo http://www.facebook.com/guitarplayerscollective/videos/743535819155239/
  5. Yeah back when I was around 12, my best friend and I had every intention of going to the Kiss concert first Aussie tour, whenever it was. Maybe '81 We had all the Kiss cards, posters etc and could see no reason why we shouldn't go. One evening my mother told us to be back home before dark - we were out riding our BMX bikes. So of course 'dark' is a very general term, and even though we could still see quite well outside when we got home, she was pissed. Then she banned us from going to that concert. At the time it was the biggest injustice ever. As we got older it became clearer that she used it as a reason not to let us go, and she was never going to let us go at that age. Made up for it many times over. Reunion, Symphony, some unmasked no frills show at the Palace, etc. Probably seen them 7 or so times by now. Second best live act ever
  6. Hadn't seen this before. Ace, Tommy Lee, Scott Iam, Slash, Rob Zombie, Gilby Clarke sing God Of Thunder https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JM4_QcUE-IA
  7. The Magnificent 7 (new movie) Better than I expected. They tried to keep it with an old style feel which made it a bit drawn out in parts, but overall, great movie.
  8. Which makes me want to hear... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2da-LeRob8
  9. Yeah, I couldn't find anything. Some tribute to dad tour in the US and UK These apps and websites make it sound like there is some tour to reel you back in.
  10. I ended up with GNR tickets. Lastix were half price or something so we got pretty good seats for 90 bucks. I got a notification on my mobile that the Nelson Brothers had posted something on Bands In Town, but when i went to read it, I had to download an app. So I didn't download and didn't read. Doubt they are touring Melbourne, but I'll have a google.
  11. I dunno. Steel Panther are basically Kiss now. Do what makes the money, risk free, and stick to the T&A songs Nothing wrong with that, it's their living, and probably the best way to earn some real $ But I kinda tired of it. Would love to hear some more serious songs. although maybe they'd suck. This new song is OK, but fairly standard and routine. I'm sure if I listen to it a lot it won't get any better.
  12. I've listened to a range of JSS material, and while some of it has been great, I've found it really hard to get into most of it. This is a great song though
  13. We stopped sending cards a few years ago. Also stopped receiving them. Not sure if this is because people only reciprocated to whoever send to them, or just because everyone decided that cards were a waste of trees at the same time.
  14. Kind of harking back to the Once Bitten days a bit. I actually didn't mind it, but not enough yet for me to go out and buy the new CD....
  15. Shits on everything Ted has done since Screw It! And for me that includes The Return of the Great Gildersleeves This song is what Steve should be doing. Back to hard rock rather than light AOR pop. Hopefully the rest is in this vein.
  16. Faith haha, I think it is something at the core of a human that might be described as an insecurity in life. They need some answer. And if you (or science) can answer where a 'soul' comes from, then pretty much all religion and faith ends. How physical life came to be can be answered, but not everything can be, and I guess some people, regardless of intelligence have their own answers.
  17. Yeah, used to be that if you had no religion you kept that to yourself because saying so wasn't the thing to do. Nowadays if you're religious, you're the one who keeps it quiet, because people are a lot more happy to debate the issue (and religion's argument pretty much starts and ends with the word "faith") I find it extraordinary that we live in a Christian society and abide by it's 'laws' to some degree (here in Australia) I've seen parliament sitting and witnesses the lord's prayer being recited at the start of the day. I used to wonder that if one day there was a definitive answer that disproved a higher power how the world would react. ie: would many people who were devout followers of a god suddenly not be able to cope with life, having never considered that there was nothing after life? Would the suicide rate jump? Would 'sin' become more prevalent? Best snippet I've seen on religion is below... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-d4otHE-YI
  18. lol Thought of Change as soon as I heard it.
  19. I can't, and I don't Amazing to see someone who is musically gifted. I never really understood it until I saw it myself. My kid starts learning keyboard, and after 2 or 3 lessons, she comes home from school and teaches herself to play Fur Elise in 3 or 4 hours. We sat in the lounge room and heard her progress. Now I give her songs on the guitar that I struggle with and am pretty jealous when her starting point is where I've got to after weeks lol
  20. Thanks, I want it so I can force my daughter to play it. Not sure how she best learns, but as she's 18, likely it's through clips (didn't think of using those, I always just look for the written tabs) She's at a point now where not only is she a better guitarist than me (not hard) but she is able to play by ear easily as apparently she has perfect pitch.

  22. Been looking for tabs to Stronger Now by Warrant to no avail. Any guitar players here come across any, or have figured them out?
  23. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EputqxBgvz8 Hold me now, I think I might be dying I'm not ashamed to say that I am frightened Hold me now, I used to heal like lightning Are yours the last eyes that I'll ever see Staring into me? [Pre-Chorus] Was I just because A mistake in love Two people who stop trying enough Don't want a brand new life This one's just right Why would I throw it all away? [Chorus] Won't you hold me now? Just before I stop breathing I know I promised I wouldn't leave here without you Please, don't let me go While they play the last song ever The last chance to hold each other forever Hold me now, I've still got words worth hearing I just wanna be a human being Hold me now, we all know what I'm fearing I think I see the light, am I disappearing? [Pre-Chorus] Was I just because A mistake in love Two people who stop trying enough Don't want a brand new life This one's just right Why would I throw it all away? [Chorus] Won't you hold me now? Just before I stop breathing I know I promised I wouldn't leave here without you Please, don't let me go While they play the last song ever The last chance to hold each other forever [Chorus] Won't you hold me now? Just before I stop breathing I know I promised I wouldn't leave here without you Please, don't let me go While they play the last song ever The last chance to hold each other forever [Outro] Hold me now Remember how we were at the beginning
  24. They're all nice light rock songs, following a fairly basic and well used formula. Not really my cup of tea. Kind of music I'd like to listen to if I was on a long train trip or something dozing off to sleep. Not to say the music would put me to sleep, but if I was dozing it's the kind of music that will keep me content
