  1. Are you talking about the Nottingham show Jez? If so we were at the same gig!
  2. Just heard this and i really liked Too Tired To Run. The music at the end of the track builds up to a nice climax.
  3. Some of his stuff is definitely way way out there. I've been browsing his Pikes releases on Youtube and some of them are really weird but when he gets his rock thing going they are impressive. What is fascinating is that not a lot is know about him, there are next to no photos of him without a KFC bucket on his head and the rate he's recording music is incredible. 103 releases this year so far!
  4. Anyone heard much by him? He's releasing music at an astonishing rate recently. An album a day in his Pikes series leading up to Halloween this year! From what i've heard do far it varies wildly in styles but the more melodic rock styled Pike releases are pretty dam good.
  5. Just heard this and it's not the disaster i thought it would be. Certainly the first couple of songs are pretty good but some of the album sounds like Take That
  6. I've been looking forward to listening to this after reading how much people on here like it but i'm just not digging it. It's just too cluttered, the ballad isn't a bad sounding track to my ears, the rest of the tracks just have too much going on at the same time. Need you to understand and here i am aren't bad but not really that good, the rest is forgettable. If this album is up there as one of the best of the year it's no wonder i've not added any rock to this years list of favourite tracks yet.
  7. To each their own, but in my honest opinion, Slash would have been just another guitarist from the 80s without Axl Rose. I would love to visit a parallel universe for a moment, where Slash was successful with his audition for Poison. Or he got given a chance with Kiss when he inquired about joining them as a teenager. That would have been interesting.
  8. Nice! Die Hard: With a Vengeance - Really enjoyed this one, nearly as much as the first
  9. I'll stick my neck out and say Slash made GnR for me. The guitar work was what drew me to them and kept me listening. I've heard Chinese Democracy twice and have no desire to listen to it again but would happily listen to Slash's solo stuff.

    Hello

    Hello from the UK!

    Books

Just finished, what a great read. One of the best endings to a biography i've ever read. I have a new found respect for Paul Stanley now
  12. This one didn't do anything for me. There's far too much going on all the time like most stuff these days
  13. Now that is a nice hobby
  14. I used to spin V and Helter Skelter a lot in the early 90's but after nearly 20 years of not hearing them i found the lead vocals a bit annoying on most tracks. I still love Cry No More and Rock Me Now though
  15. Die Hard 2 - Not as good as the first but still a good watch
  16. Sorry, my mistake, i should have put 1.6% or 16mg in a 10ml bottle. 1.6% is about the strength of a strong cigarette or self rolled cigarette and is suitable for someone that smoked around 20 a day. I have seen 1.8% which is popular which obviously is a bit stronger and suits heavier smokers more. The 2.4% and 3.6% strengths i think are for people who smoke a lot!! 1.6% seems fine for me but my closest shop doesn't sell that strength at all. They have some very reasonably prices 1.8% on sale at the moment so i'll try it when my 4 lots of 1.6% has gone i reckon. The E-Cig has worked perfectly for me. It'll be a month tomorrow and i'm fine. It's been a perfect substitute and will carry on being a substitute because I have no plans on giving up nicotine anytime soon. Why go through the withdrawal when i can consume it safely? I know they don't work on some people but try whatever method you think will be best for you. The sweets, gum and patches haven't worked for me and i know the nicotine free liquids won't help me either because i'm not trying to give up really
  17. Nice find Malcolm! Great playing in that one. He really nails the Lizzy vibe and gets the wah pedal use spot on. Nice cover and i think far from simple to play in places.
  18. Oh dear, but i don't get it, who has he supposed to of raped?
  19. Using an E-Cig isn't smoking and shouldn't be included in the smoking policy in my opinion. Over here it's called vaping and not smoking. The vapor emitted is harmless so there shouldn't be a problem using one anywhere. People should be encouraged to switch to them and banning the use of them in the same way cigarettes are will discourage there use. I don't care what anyone calls it or if they choose it over real cigs to be honest. What I care about is certain coworkers always looking for loopholes in policies and rules to get themselves extra breaks. At my job, it's very much a team effort and when one or more people disappear multiple extra times because they think they're in the right, it puts more work on others. On the funny side, these same 2 dimwits I work with still take extra bathroom breaks now as well as have to make special trips out to their car... Coincidence? That's crazy, they shouldn't need to take a break to use an E-Cig and i agree they shouldn't. I can use one while working without disrupting what i'm doing but i guess it depends on what you and they are doing
  20. I've given some serious thought to trying those. But there seems to be so many types and options available with them. I wouldn't know where to start. You've been a smoker for as long I have. Is it an easy switch to make? I was dreading it. I said to myself a lot over the years that i would give up when i was 40 which seemed a long time away whenever i thought about it. It snuck up on me and i planned on going to see my doctor the week after for some advice when out of the blue my best mate handed me a present the morning after my party and told me to open it when i got home. He must have been reading my mind somehow, it was the E-Cig i am using now with a selection of E-Liquid flavours. I thought sod it, i'll give it a go. I've smoked roll up cigarettes from the start and my last pouch of tobacco ran out on Wednesday 3rd June with my last very thin bedraggled cigarette being at 9:30pm. I shed a small tear putting that last one out. I actually really liked smoking and will miss it. I was a bit skeptical about the E-Cig but it felt very similar to actually smoking from the start. The strength of liquid i have (1.6mg) is supposed to be close to what i've been used to but i think it's stronger. I actually got a head rush from only a few drags for the first few days which was really pleasant. Before i knew it i'd gone a week on the E-Cig and it started to feel natural. I've always smoked outside away from the house and anyone who doesn't smoke so being able to vape inside is a major plus, especially when the weather is bad. The E-Liquids can cost anywhere between £1 and £4 and one will last me nearly 4 weeks. That is a massive saving in a year. I see them as an upgrade to the cigarette. I went from the book to the Kindle and so i've gone from a cigarette to an E-Cig The switch has been surprisingly easy and it's the small habits that go along with smoking that was the hardest to get my head around. The actual physical act of rolling a cigarette i miss. I actually like the smell of a cigarette so i miss that with the E-Cig being odorless. I am using this one http://www.vapehq.co.uk/collections/1-just-starting-out/products/vapehq-iq200 which is a starter kit but it's perfectly adequate but i reckon i'll upgrade soon

  22. I'm the same as Geoff. I'll know on the first spin whether it's good enough to be spun again. I generally pick out fav tracks on the first listen. It's very very rare i add a track in to my fav playlist i've heard more than once and like Geoff said there is too much out there to get through listening to shit or mediocre albums.
