  1. This is exactly what I am saying. I little bit is too much for me. I understand some bands want to stay "fresh" and I respect that(they can play however they want). But thats not my listening preference.
  2. By the way loved their first 2. Especially the debut. Reminds me of the summer after high school graduation.
  3. I agree totally. Only and if only they revert to their old style. Since it has been ages since a new Trixter album has been done, it could possible have moderate to heavy modern influences. If this is the case I will be extremely disappointed.
  4. I loved the debut cd. But I really couldn't get into the second. I agree the production is top notch. Their sophmore cd has more of a modern vibe for my taste. The debut was very 80's sounding. I guess I am truly stuck in the 80's.
  5. I own a lot of Bride. Like quoted above Show No Mercy, Live To Die and Silence Is Madness will appeal to people who like their metal on the classic side. Kinetic Faith, and Snakes will appeal to those who like the GNR type of hard rock. Their First 3 albums have been reissued several times each by different labels. Their first album Show No Mercy was originally only released on vinyl and cassette. Before the reissues in the early 00's Silence cd was selling for a good amount of cash (before Ebay). Bride came out with a limited edition cd with both Show No Mercy and Silence Is Madness both on it. It could be purchased through HM magazine (directly from the band) I believe it was around 96'. This was the first time Show No Mercy had seen cd format. I am fortunate to have this cd. It was limited to 1000 copies according to the liner notes. So was the first pressing of Lost Reels. The band could have done better with the quality though. Show No Mercy sounded like it was transfered straight from a record. Another rare cd is the Snakes In The Playground with a bonus disk. If I recall it had 3 songs. 2 remixes and Same Ol' Sinner from End of the Age. This was offered in limited quantities when Snakes first came out. Unfortunately I don't have that one, but my friend does.
  6. Mike Walters has a pretty damn good remake of the Rebecca Black song "Friday" if you can believe it. Done very well. Pure 80's party anthem style. Search for it on youtube. You can even download it from the link.
  7. Fair Warning and 5150 for me. I also have to comment on the new VH song "Tattoo". I've listened to it 3 times and still can't get into it. I know its the first DLR/VH album since 84' but it still not the same without Michael Anthony. Not really sure if I will get the new one. I have all there cds from VH1 thru the double live album. Nothing after that. They really did nothing for me. I heard that Sammy Hagar had heard the new song and said it was not new at all. He said that song was a left over from older DLR sessions. He suspects most of the new album to be that way too. Is it me or does Wolfgang Van Halen look a lot like Chaz Bono in the Tattoo video???
  8. I agree, I thought their first was the best for this reason (Rob Rock). I had the tape the first week it came out. I remember being so excited for Walkin in Faith to come out. I bought it the first day and unfortunatly was disappointed. They got softer and no Mr. Rock on vocals. I understand most like Walkin In Faith more. But to each his own I guess. Oh by the way, when cruising throught cable tv the other day I saw Rob Rock on TBN singing old hymns!!! My wife and I found it pretty funny. Rob is still one of my favorite singers.
  9. Reading the comments above reminded me of Xsinners first album "Get It". That one had 2 versions also. One sold in christian book/music stores and one sold in secular stores. The blue cover with pics of the band members was sold in christian stores and the one sold in secular stores (very, very rare) was a red cover with no pics of the band members on it, just the logo. As for Barren Cross State of Control cd I have the one with "Escape in the night". The one with Escape in the night I believe was rarer back in the day before the reissue. Most people who bought it went to christians stores to get it. I used to see the Your love gives version everywhere. I used to have that one too. But I don't like having multiple copies of cds so I sold it. I prefer escape over your love gives. Oh bye the way. Heres a more confusing note. The cassettes had 10 songs only and each had 1 different track also based on place of sale (christian or secular). Like the cds I owned both of those also but have long since sold them.
  10. I remember "Believe" demo tape from 85' if I recall. Had that one long ago. Traded it I think in 91' for Holy Soldiers demo tape. I personally like State Of Control just a little bit more over the rest. I prefer more of a commercial sound which it had. I had a lot of friends back in the day who did not like christian metal, but they loved Barren Cross.
  11. Love the song, went to their website and found out you can download their album for free. The rest of the cd is decent but not spectacular. Though I really love the song "Back to the 80's". Apparently they have no official silver press cd for the e.p. just digital downloads.
  12. I'll just wait to hear samples from the new cd before I decide to purchase it. DLR era VH is my overall favorite, but my favorite album is 5150, go figure. I still don't consider it much of a full comeback DLR/VH album without Michael Anthony.
  13. I usually don't hit pawnshops anymore for the fact that they are usually cleaned out of the good ones and or they aren't sold in the shops anymore. Haven't been to one in over a year but decided, what the heck, maybe I'll get lucky. I sure did. Found Kidd Robin S/T 4 song demo cd that a friend used to let me borrow long time ago (bout 20 years ago)!! I also found an local band that I never heard of. The band is NO WAY OUT. Came out in 1995. I never heard of the band but the insert showed a picture of them and they had the early 90's typical hard rock look (mullets and all). So i decided to buy it. I paid a whopping $1.25 for both cd's!!! I actually just pulled change from the car to pay for them. Lucky me.
  14. The cd is called Delicious Bite Size Meat Pies. It came out in 1996. It was on Bootblack records and only sold thru HM magazine for a short time. It was a collection of confiscated bootlegs the band took from concert goers. They decided to take the best of the bunch and put it out on cd. The time period the recordings were taken was when they were on tour supporting Fire and Love and Miracle Mile. Probably the best version of Never Say Goodbye is on that cd. I used to own it a while back and sold it.
  15. I hit the local pawnshops about once a year. Literally all of them in one day. I went a while back and found nothing. I am pretty particular about the condition. Most of the ones I do see are pretty trashed. I usually only try to pick up things that I don't have. The cd stores carry cds in great shape but the selection for 80's hard rock is very slim. Usually just common stuff like Bon Jovi and the like. I usually hit ebay, gemm,or amazon for out of print stuff.
  16. The Future World album was my introduction from them. For me its hard to choose between Future World and Jump The Gun. I guess I will have to vote for Future World since it was the first one I had and have good memories of it.
  17. appreciate you trying. thanks
  18. I would like to order a couple of cd's from demondoll but my computer keeps messin' up when I go to the web site. Does anyone else have this problem. Ive tried another computer and the same thing happens. Honestly for $8.99 for most cds their probably just good cdrs.

Butt rock is a term coined by grunge lovers here in the pacific northwest. I feel bad for coming from the state where grunge originated. Anyways thanks for all the warm welcomes.

I finally decided to join in. Its great to see so many people still interested in 80's hard rock. Just a little about myself. I grew up in the 80's and have loved the rockin' music from that era. I currently have about 700 cd's in my collection. All of it hair metal, glam, butt-rock, or whatever you want to call it. I don't listen to anything else. This is my hobby beside my xbox 360. I look forward to conversing with you all.
  21. First 3 Guardian cd's are good. Not worth picking anything up after that. The First Watch cd was reissued in 1996. You could purchase it directly from the band out of HM magazine only. I have that copy. It has a couple of extra songs and the disc is like a translucent yellow picture disc. Very cool. It was release together with the same advertisement of their cd Delicious Bite Size Meat Pies. I bought them both.
  22. My rarest are, Kidd Wikkid s/t Jillson Deadly Girl Joker Ecstasy Concrete Jungle Wear and Tear Sweet Teaze Do It Till It Hurtz Sweet Lips XOXO to name a few
