  1. Love all of the tracks so far. ‘Now and Forever’ is very very Toto like and it’s also good to see them going back to the more trad. West Coast sound with the funky horn section etc  on some tracks, rather than churn out another Work Of Art style  soundalike release…. Really good stuff this.

  2. Motorhead - The Lost Tapes Vol. 1-5 (Box)

    Amaranthe - The Catalyst

Einar Solberg - The Congregation Acoustic

Crazy Lixx - Two Shots At Glory

    Robert Hart - Circus Life

    Ihsahn - S/T

    Bad Omens - S/T

Bad Omens - Finding God Before God Finds Me

Bad Omens - The Death Of Peace Of Mind

Meshuggah - Chaosphere (25th Anniversary Remaster)

I find the first few months are write offs for me, personally. If something is released in January, I very likely will miss it, or I'll listen to it a couple times, and then quickly forget about it. January and February are the months I catch up on everything I missed the previous year. I go through @Jez year end list (the only Top 5 that matters ;} ) and then check out the major crossovers on the other member's lists. And because Jezzer fucked up by not having ModX, Steve Lukather, or Boys From Heaven in his Top 5, I have an even greater workload than usual.

Yep..I fucked up ;)...but...all three of those you mentioned feature very highly in my list. It's just that my top 5 were so good, they got edged out.

  4. Saxon - Hell, Fire And Damnation (Box Set)

Exploring Birdsong - The Thing With Feathers EP.

Exploring Birdsong - Dancing In The Face Of Danger EP.

    Temic - Terror Management Theory

Earthside - Let The Truth Speak

    Aviations - Luminaria

Exit Eden - Rhapsodies In Black

  5. A great little album this one, especially as it's all self released too. There's some really nice AOR stuff with that lovely 80's sound to it, with 'Across All Chaos' being my choice track, but all are really good and recommended. Physical copies available on bandcamp

If there are any non Aussies here who haven't heard the John Farnham album "Whispering Jack", then you should give it a spin.

    There's a reason why it's ranked number one. It's a Great slice of 80's AOR/ Pop.

He was the King of Australia in '86 when it was released and he's arguably still our favourite son.

Either him or Dave Warner.  ;)

    Just a little Aussie in-joke.

I love John Farnham's stuff, especially 'Whispering Jack' and 'Age Of Reason'. I was lucky enough to see him at the Dominion Theatre inLondon on the 'Age Of Reason ' tour and he was an incredible live singer... one of the best i've seen. Love his stuff on some of the Little River Band albums too. quality stuff.
