  1. Eh. No. A bit of irony there... Actually he's 15... Fuck off... I'm almost 15.
  2. Don' think I've seen this one. I've seen the first 3 and they're all identical and whilst not painfully bad, just really dull and boring. I like Matt Damon so I tolerate them, and it's decent for action films... but yeah, it is what it is. Whoa! Really? I like them all, but I thought the third one ('Ultimatum') was awesome; much better than the other two and one of the best thrillers I've seen for years. Not sure I'm too keen to see the latest one though. 'Ultimatum' does make it sound like the end ... then they make another one ... You realize that "The Bourne Ultimatum" is based off book three of a ten (at the moment) book series? Also, the new film isn't about Jason Bourne, but it follows another agent around the same time Ultimatum is happening.
  3. I meant from a buyers perspective. Don't most sellers list fairly high on that site? yep, prices are generally high. but there's a lot of stuff on there that you don't see very much anywhere else. That's true.
  4. Alright boys. Let's stop this. Sam, I know he's attacking your credibility, but both of you need to keep this off the forums. If you must, use the PMs. Keep in mind, fighting over the Internet is like competing in the Special Olympics.

  6. Isn't GEMM ridiculously expensive? Maybe it's just what I've been looking for.
  7. Don't wanna rain on your parade--yes I do--but the thread is called "What CDs did you buy this week?" CDs! Heh, I jest. Your purchases are actually more interesting than the rest. But I've never heard of any of 'em.
  8. I'd love to seem them live but I will need to get to the east coast for that to ever happen. It's just insane how good KIX is live. They get better and better all the time. After the show was over I got a little peview of some of the new stuff .... Totally killer. They have written so much stuff that they now are not recording anything old that had been scraped... everything is new. Looks like the new release actually will not be done until sping or early summer. The new release is going to be awesome. This is awesome. For someone like Dave, who goes to about a thousand KIX shows a year, to still be blown away from their set speaks volumes on how good this band is live. I'm so jealous of how often you get to see these guys, and that you got to preview some new stuff. And if you praise it, it'll be good. Yours is the only voice I'll listen to concerning KIX, considering how well you know them. Dammit, I can not wait to see them, again.
  9. The Bourne Legacy Wow. I don't understand the mixed reviews this one got. This was great. Jeremy Renner is such a great actor. So many good moments in this one. Some really great chase scenes. I wonder if Geoff has seen this. If what he said about fast forwarding chase scenes was true, this would be a short film for him.
  10. You posted this last year, and I watched it last year. Bloody brilliant. I have to download it, again. Yep, it's become an annual holiday tradition of torture for me. I can't NOT watch it! Don't bother downloading it; you can watch the whole damn movie on YouTube!! Too late. I got two versions. The original, and a "Cinema Titanic" version (think MST3K). In fact, one of the voices sounds like Mike from Mystery Science Theatre 3000. I think there may actually be an MST3K episode starring this film. I downloaded them, 'cause I want to show them to the fam.

  12. So, I'm crazy for saying this isn't making my top ten--if I was to even make a list--yet, you ain't crazy for suggesting "Just Like I Planned" is a filler? I'mma smack you. ;} Not just you - y'all ;-) Look to each their own eh. I just think this ticks most of the boxes for a great mhr album. If others don't, we'll that's cool too. It's just I'm left scratching my head slightly that's all. Heh. You know I'm just taking the piss. I mean, I stand by my words, but I only say them to stir the pot. Don't mind me. I'm from Barcelona. ;} Really? I thought you were in the States!! Not sure where I got that from lol Nah, I'm from Canada. But I threw in the Fawlty Towers reference, 'cause sometimes I feel like Manuel around here. "I know nothing!"
  13. Really? You, of all people, have not seen Star Trek? Never been much of a "Trek" guy...casual fan at best. I was always more of a Star Wars kid. When the last one came out I was kinda interested cuz I liked the idea of being able to "start from scratch" without having to know 40+ years of back story but never got around to it for whatever reason. I'm no Kirk-loving Spock-sucker. I'm a Star Wars nerd, through and through. But that Star Trek film was just great sci-fi. Simply put. "Spock-sucker" Have you seen the movie "Fanboys" by any chance? The main characters (a group of Star Wars nerds) have numerous scrapes/fights with Trekkies throughout that film. Love it. Yeah, that's where I stole that line.

  15. So the Real Ale turned out great! I wasn't expecting it to be this good, as all I used were the two cans, but damn... Anyway, on the weekend I started a new batch, which I just racked into a carboy: Mo' Brau RIS 1.7kg Coopers Stout 1.7kg Coopers Dark Ale 1.7kg Coopers Lager 1kg Dextrose I grabbed this recipe from the Coopers site. It's dark as sin, and tastes just as good. And it's still a long way from consumption.

  19. I don't usually score albums, but having just listened to this one about 5 times, I thought I'd have a go. I use my favourite songs as the (10/10) benchmark, hence my marks are generally harsher than Glen or Geoff: 1. Wake Me Up - (6) - really average opener; nothing wrong with, but nothing special 2. Bleed & Scream - (8) - nice hard rock song 3. Aint Dead Yet - (6.5) - decent upbeat song, quite a nice chorus 4. Battlegrounds - (6) - again, another reasonably good song, but not amazing 5. A Bitter Taste - (8.5) - very nice song, great build up and chorus - just somehow get the feeling it could be a bit better (i.e. big build up, chorus kicks in really well, but then it doesn't really go anywhere and the chorus itself is very short) 6. Falling Down - (8) - good song 7. SOS - (9) - the verses on this track are the highlight of the whole album, the chorus is quite good, and the solo is pretty poor - very disappointing. Overall still a really good song though and the best on the album for me 8. Take Back The Fear - (5) - not keen on this one, sounds like rock-by-numbers 9. The Unspoken Heroes - (8) - like this one, excellent chorus, but the opening riff (which appears a few times during the song) sounds a lot like 'Still Of The Night' by Whitesnake, so much so that I found myself humming said song 10. About To Break - (6) - soft, nothing special, but reasonable guitar 11. After The End Of The World - (4) - least favourite on the whole thing, really boring Good album overall, will be in my top 10 of the year, but perhaps not quite as good as I thought it was going to be after hearing a few songs online beforehand. That is pretty much my feelings about this one. I haven't really said much about this album, as I have been a bit tied on whether I really like it or not. Spinning it again the other day I came to the definite conclusion that whilst good and solid, it is massively overrated and definitely Won't make my top 10 this year.I'll give it a pretty good 75-80% Same here, a solid album but nowhere near as good as it was hyped to be. I played it regularly for about 2 weeks when it firstcame out and have rarely gone back to it since. I know I'll pull it out again when I make my best of 2012 list, but like Jez, I don't think it will make my top 10 either. Yep, I can't even recall much of the album. I know "Wake Me Up" only because I had to get through that one to get to "Bleed and Scream," which, I'll admit, is one of my favourite tracks of the year. Unfortunately, nothing else got me stiff.
  20. That's my second favourite song on the album (after 'Easy Come Easy Go')! I know, right?!
