Would Bon Jovi been as big a band if the original LP cover was used for Slippery? Everything else the same (singles, videos, Jon and Richie still look/sound the same), but assume the marketing and promo maybe revolved around wet t-shirt contests and similar. Lord knows, I would've bought it on vinyl, picture disc, cassette and eventually, CD, (plus a life-sized poster), but would women and girls have bought the album in the numbers they did? Obviously, a huge reason they got as big as they did was their appeal to the fairer sex. Clearly, girls bought Warrant's "Cherry Pie" release, but that wasn't quite as in your face as "Slippery." Any thoughts?

Steelheart - I'll Never Let You Go (Moriah Formica cover)
CurtisLoew replied to KarpetRydOFunk's topic in AOR and Hard Rock
They've got a full length scheduled to be released 10/29/21 digitally, plus on CD (!) and apparently ,LP. CD pre-orders available, and I pre-ordered mine. https://www.pavementmusic.com/product/plush-plush/?fbclid=IwAR0-poK_iMeRTqC-JjL5aiBDLZwaWf2EtbZYvQPWCLK7kELHvfAyaPQoU2A I'll buy anything Moriah releases on disc. They've also got a new single dropping digitally 9/17 called "Athena" + they're opening for Mammoth WVH and for the Evanescence/Halestorm tour. I hope these gigs and the album translate into Moriah becoming the giant (albeit tiny) rock star she deserves to be. -
Steelheart - I'll Never Let You Go (Moriah Formica cover)

Her all-female band is here... All four are insanely talented. They are called Plush, first single ("Hate") will be released digitally 2/9. There's a "teaser" video on YouTube. -
Such a great game... hope the next will give us a similar result. GO BUCKS!

Steelheart - I'll Never Let You Go (Moriah Formica cover)

Moriah's a phenomenal vocalist. And no slouch on guitar, either. Clearly a big fan of the classic material... She's got a Live! Bootleg poster on her wall in many of her videos... I didn't even know they made any Live Bootleg posters. I believe she's been doing the covers by request to make some dough while she can't gig. Her original tunes don't quite hit the same notes ('natch), and it's a shame her material is digital only, because I would totally buy a physical copy of her EP to support someone keepin' the music alive, but cannot justify (in my head) paying for digital music files that I can listen to just as easily on Spotify. (I know, I'm part of the problem.) And, she's been putting together an all-female band, and they are all killer musicians, too. I can't wait to hear whatever they come up with. -
There are some samples up on his site http://tomkeifer.com/music/

AWESOME show. Kristen's great (and gorgeous), great cast, good writing.

Great, great show. Leary was awesome in that role. Wish I'd've watched it from the beginning -- FX has an amazing string of incredibly good TV dramas. Oh, and Andrea Roth is gorgeous.

Let's go for... Paranoid!

So sad, always thought he'd get his stuff together. He was a great songwriter. I hope he's at peace.

"No More Dirty Deals" is currently listed under both Johnny Van Zant and The Johnny Van Zant Band: http://heavyharmonies.com/cgi-bin/glamcd.cgi?BandNum=1291&CDName=No+More+Dirty+Deals http://heavyharmonies.com/cgi-bin/glamcd.cgi?BandNum=4089&CDName=No+More+Dirty+Deals (The JVZ Band one has a review -- the JVZ one has more personnel listed ...) Any chance "we" can split the Van-Zant listing into one for Johnny's AOR band and one for the (mostly-awful) duet project w/ his brother -- or just move the first AOR Van Zant disc to Johnny's solo listing -- or something?

I like the show -- but I am not a fan of Piper. She was never as hot or charming as she (and apparently, everyone else) thought she was. In general, USA has killer shows, and this is no exception.

Only ONE of them lost their firearms license? Was he the better shot?

Warriors of Metal Fest III - Chillicothe, Ohio
CurtisLoew replied to CurtisLoew's topic in Concerts and Tours
Well, I haven't lived in Chilli since '94... and it never occurred to me they'd put on a metal festival at the county fairgrounds! (And, I've literally never heard a single song by any band that was on any of the 3 lineups.) -
Apparently, there's a metal fest in my hometown, that's in it's third year, and I'd never even heard of the thing -- of course, I've barely heard of any of the bands, either, but some here may be interested: http://www.warriorsofmetalfest.com/bandinfo/

Retrospect Records Upcoming Releases UPDATE
CurtisLoew replied to Retrospect Records's topic in Record Label News
Looking forward to the Rosie discs. What is the current policy on CDrs v. silver discs? Is it case-by-case? Or ? -
Can't argue with that logic!

No clue. She's apparently a model/actress -- was one of the chicks on Deal or No Deal. Here she is in a bikini: And in the interest of fair play:
