  3. err no he hasnt. If he sounds good on the album then it must be mixed well. He sounded truly awful at Firefest last year. I was shocked.
  4. Nural - Physics Off the chart melody

No its a good album - you'll love it. Hard hitting straight up modern rock. Good vocalist.........just seemed to miss that killer punch/ harmony/melody for me. If you take a look on their Myspace page and listen to 'Tension' you will agree that is a good song and a fine example of the sound of the first album. However then listen to 'The Hits Keep Coming' and listen to it blow it away in the first 10 seconds......you know the sound I mean. Cheers

Well guys this was a surprise..........I had pretty much written these guys off as an average modern rock band, but piss me if this doesnt blow every other modern release so far this year. This is pretty essential stuff, and if any one doesnt immediately fall in love with this album i'd be gobsmacked. Its so good in fact I'll do a little mini song by song review. 1. The Hits Keep Coming - Killer opening track - as soon as that riff hits..like a cross of Papa Roach and A Change Of Pace. Straight into a glorious chorus. Powerful stuff. 2. Stop Me When Youve Had Enough - No let up here...straight into a bouncy verse. Then a real melodic chorus...modern melodic heaven...love the bit at 2.30 with the piano then wham back into that chorus! 3. Physics - Sensational track. Starts with a Muse sounding intro. That's where the Muse comparison ends. Intelligent lyrics and an off the chart chorus. Seriously harmony heaven...about as good as it gets for modern rock. 4. Up Against - Another Change Of Pace sounding track...acoustic verse into another winning chorus. Mid paced song with a killer ending - the last minute is magic, the way those lyrics repeat over...very clever songwriting 5. Say What You Will - Ballad. No strike that...........best ballad of the year. In a word awesome. (Geoff you will cream your pants over this one...heartfelt and excellent) 6. Surefire - Sounds like the melody will be slightly lost....but no, another powerful track with a killer chorus....6 down and 6 great tracks. 7. Ive Been Here Before - There's that Change Of Pace sound again. Mid tempo song....good stuff. Once again the last minute is brill. 8. Me Or The Music - Sensational stuff again. Light bouncy verse with a piano backing....and into yet another great great chorus....seriously not a weak moment on this album. great solo as well (almost AORish with that stop start guitar). 9. Youve Got Some Nerve - Angst ridden guitar intro....fast paced rocker, with a total attitude chorus...again reminds me of Papa Roach. Love it. 10. Sweet Oblivion - Probably the weakest track on offer, but still good. A big atmospheric intro, but the hook isnt as immediate in this song - a grower tho. So there you have it. For me this is head and shoulders above any other modern release so far this year. On their Myspace page they state 'Year Of The Nural'.......I'd be inclined to agree with that comment! http://www.myspace.com/nural Enjoy.....I'll be glad to hear your opinions on this great album. PS - sorry guys download only No hard copy of this either. Cheers
  7. That T-Ride thing is a fucking mess IMO substitute 'mess' with 'piece of shite' and you are spot on
  8. Here's some more info on this band from a poster over at Melrock - Bloody hell! I'm starting to lose track of their name changes! When they released the fantastic "Off The Record" (have you got it?) in 2004 when they were Agynst i was amazed that they never really got anywhere with it, especially after the great reviews it got. Full of great songs, it should have been a killer album but just died a death. Agynst wasn't a great name but Red Handed was worse and now we've got Madam Adam! Lol! I just hope they use some of the brilliant demos they did under their previous monikers. They seem to have done this pretty succesfully with "Sex Ain't Love" which was an Agynst demo called "Center" with a different chorus, musically and lyrically. If this new album finally appears then it really should be the great record they've been promising for so long. Sounds like this band has been kicking around for a while under different names - not that those 2 mentioned mean anything to me. Anyways here's hoping for an album real soon.
  9. Just heard another song from the new album 'Like A Disease'.......a mid paced burner with another killer solo. Shapin up to be something pretty special me thinks.
  10. Winds Of March - Journey. (God on guitar).
  11. Forgotten - Madam Adam (nice. very nice indeed).
  12. God 2009 was looking pretty shite.......not any more. http://www.myspace.com/madamadammusic Oh yeah baby. No record yet.....they are in the process of recording their debut. (Geoff this is gonna shag anything in your top 10).
  13. There are better songs on other albums........but this is their most consistent release. Arguably Schons best playing as well. ......its miles ahead of Departure mate Not for me. 'Line Of Fire' & 'Anyway You Want it' are 2 reasons to start with. Granted there are at least 5 classic tracks on Departure, but there are more on Evolution. Really good album, can`t decide if there are 5 classics or not? Any Way You Want It, Where Were You, Line Of Fire, Walks Like A Lady and Stay Awhile are the classics. Also includes two of Perry's finest moments - Good Morning Girl and Im Cryin. The rest are good, but not classic IMO. Evolution though - the only song even remotely close to filler is 'Daydream' (even that is excellent) the rest are all awesome. With a capital A. In fact Im going to listen to it on the way home tonight in celebration
  14. Victory - Temples Of Gold Defcon - s/t Chris Laney - Pure
  15. Same applies to you as to Glen I just bought it mate - will let you know when it turns up. Anything with Dixie on it is mine.........probably my fav Journey song Dixie Highway is a stunning song with mind blowing guitar playing. I think I`ve heard several live versions of this, the guitar solos changed a little bit, not sure which version I like best Well its on Captured for a start.
