    Proper Footie 2008/9

Only cos 'Boro were shite.......... Regardless, the Premiership crown is ours If Liverpool don't beat Newcastle,I think the title's yours..... Even if they do it wont make any difference. ManU only potentially dodgy game is Arsenal and I think they'll win that too. Southend finished 8th.....good end placing given their start...I thought we'd end up in a relegation battle..but cudos to the team for a great recent string of results. Gives a good platform to build off for next season to make a promotion push. The wife's team Reading still have a chance of auto promotion...need to beat Birmingham today and hope Jez's lot do a favour against Sheffield...............come on you Eagles. Southend did very well in the end to finish in that position, can only be a huge positive in their forward plans for next season! yeah, the new stadium has started now....22,000 seater just 2 miles from where I live. Will be perfect for my boys. That is if they dont support bloody Manu
  2. I agree. I'm loving this more and more with every listen. Backed. With every spin it just gets better and better and Dio's lyrics are just excellent on this disc. Bloody excellent album. I Love it. The sound is just massive on this thing. Dio sounds awesome and Iommi just rocks.....every riff and solo is amazing. How bloody cool is Bible Black.

  4. Cant decide between Bible Black, Neverwhere or Eating The Cannibals All three are killer off the new Heaven & Hell
  5. Heaven & Hell - The Devil You Know (this is fantastic...how could I have doubted the great man. I deserve to burn in hell)
  6. Iron Maiden at Earls Court (cant remember when it was)....their poorest performance for me....and why? cos the sound was shite....all echos and nothing else. Motorhead (25th Bomber anniversary) at Brixton Academy. Where were the hits? Too fucking loud as well - just ridiculous. U2 - Zoo tour at Wembley Stadium. Just a wall of sound. Zzzzzz. Luck I was pissed out of tiny mind. Deep Purple @ Cliffs Pavilion in Southend (a couple of years back)....classic example of a band and an audience past its sell by date. Static boring audience and Ian Gillan with short hair and wearing a hawaiian shirt. Rock n roll. NOT. Zzzzz
  7. one of guys whose opinion I respect the most on this board. its been a while getting to that 5,000 tho mate
  8. dont know............might be. to be honest ive been real busy last week or so and havent looked into this one any more. That ballad was pretty wicked as well if I recall? Cheers (PS Adelitas Way is gonna be better than them all...only another couple of months now.)

    Nural

Wow mate, glad you like this one so much. I keep thinking Papa is better when im playing it, but when i put this baby back on those vocals are just so killer. Great album for sure. & yeah it needs a proper disc release.
  10. Journey (with Perry) Survivor (at their height - mid 80s) Rainbow (with Dio) Black Sabbath (with Dio) Thin Lizzy (original line up) AC/DC (with Bon Scott) Triumph Mind you ive been to literally 100s of gigs since 1982 so cant complain. Some of my fav gigs - Maiden (Piece Of Mind), Marillion (Script), Jovi (slippery), Dio (Holy Diver), Queen (at Knebworth), Giant (at Marquee), Danger Danger (debut tour of UK), Love/Hate (Blackout tour at Marquee), Guns n Roses (Milton Keynes), REO (Hammy Odeon mid 80s).......etc.
  11. Interesting... I played the soundbyte of the opening track & immediately lost interest - but if it's the weakest track then I might just check out the rest.... And that is why I haaaaaaat playing samples. My opinion always changes when the cd is in my stereo and I can hear the complete songs over and over. Yeah I know it - but I only got into Dio via Killswitch Engage's cover version so it's not an automatic buy for me, and when the first track sounded so slow & doomy.... Will check out more of it.... Surely you must have Holy Diver?
  12. Papa Roach - Metamorphosis Nural - Entitlement easily the two best modern releases of the year so far.
  13. Destrophy - The Way Of The World Papa Roach - Metamorphosis Nural - Entitlement Chris Laney - Pure Pretty Maids - Jump The Gun
  14. Well that's interesting cos I was avoiding this for the exact reason you state. May have to check it out. Exactly why people should always make up their own minds up and listen to it themselves mate. Im in town over the weekend so if I can find a copy I may pick it up.
  15. I think its just a case that there has been far far fewer female fronted bands over the years. & then when you consider that only a % of them will be any good you are only left with a handful which really do the business. Some of my favs have been Saraya Heart Sass Jordan Witness Harlow Nightwish Mostly Autumn Skunk Anansie Within Temptation but like I say its bad when you are struggling to name more than 10 off the top of your head. Those mentioned above though are pretty killer IMO.
  16. <br /><br />same as I thought of the samples of his last 2 albums. One trick pony<br /><br /><br /><br />But that trick keeps me buying his albums! it doesnt me.....
  17. Well that's interesting cos I was avoiding this for the exact reason you state. May have to check it out.
  18. Destrophy - The Arms Of The Enemy (i love this song).
  19. Ive got all their albums and absolutely love this band. I agree that 'I Can Dream' is an absolute stormer and one of my fav ever songs. Killer song. Difficult to choose between the 3 releases as all have some excellent songs along with one or two fillers. I think their last album is excellent tho and really showed how tight the band had become following endless touring. I think I caught them live at least twice ...maybe three times. News of a new album is most welcome
  20. same as I thought of the samples of his last 2 albums. One trick pony
  21. again.............. plus Papa Roach - Metamorphosis
  22. No everyone should play 'Still Bleeding'
  23. I got 11850, but lost it all on the last question. DOH.
