Saw extreme with Mr big a few tears ago when they toured together.
Both were awesome.
Would go again, especially after the last album, but another band touring while I'm overseas 😔
I saw extreme on porno tour with Hardline supporting (with Schon)

Nice. saw him live about 30 yrs ago. Been a while lol

I love this album. About as close to classic Journey as you'll hear.
But the songs stand up in their own right.
Million times better than the last Journey album, production is amazing, Hugo sounds great.
How Many Times > I'll be around is magnificent, like classic era.

Those 2 Ladder albums were sublime...
2?

easy Epic & Ladder 😉

Not feeling this one 😕
As mentioned production is weak (and plain annoying when most other bands nail it even on a shoestring), Strandells vocals are just not me 🤷, pretty generic song titles and ideas that you've heard a million times.
Sure folk will love it plenty but it's a hard pass for me

it's basically the 5th WoA album with Overland singing.
I like it a lot.
I hear zero Neal Schon tho 🤔

I'm guessing in no order -
Vega
Creye
Midnite City
Defiants
Story of the Year
Degreed
Lebrock
Eclipse
Tempt
Nighthawk
probably round out a very good top 10.
I suspect Overland will destroy all though in a month's time
First single is 🔥🔥🔥🔥

thinking about it I'd go again if the played something like this - just listed in album order :
Breaking my Heart Again
Millions Miles Away
Bleed & Scream
A Bitter Taste
Love Bites
I Dont Wanna Say Im Sorry
Killing Me
Jaded
No Way Back
Mary Leigh
Roses on Our Grave
Dead Inside
Hearts Collide
Hardest Part is Losing You
-
Gave this a proper listen today.
Let's be honest, Eclipse have been pretty weak since 2017's Monementum imo. I loved that album (except Downfall of Eden 😖), but everything since has been equal part good songs to fillers. The same is true here - I'd say about 5 keepers (mostly on first half).
Also, just an observation but every album seems to have a terrible nordic sounding semi war, semi inspiro song now which I absolutely hate but Erik absolutely loves and includes in their set - part of the reason I won't see them live again :
Here it is Anthem.
What an awful, instantly skippable pile of Nordic jibberish.
Previous albums it was as follows :
Read to Rock : Hometown Calling
Bleed & Scream : Battlegrounds
Armageddonize : Blood Enemies
Monumentum : Downfall of Eden
Paradigm : United
Wired : Run for Cover
and now Anthem - possibly the worst of all 😉
-
im afraid that hasn't any of the spark or magic of the original.
Erik is obviously forging a career now but posting endless cover songs on You Tube and Singing but a bunch of washed out old farts is a waste of talent imo.

Sounds like the kind of thing that gets spread around...to perk our interest...I mean if it was anything near Tough It Out that would be great.
was Bruce Mee of Fireworks Mag.

very good album, liking it a lot without any real filler which is rare for 2023.

I prefer the DLR albums to Van Halen.
