sounds like every other kivel release 🤷

Very cool. This new band cancels out the disappointment I felt when Levara split.
Can't wait for the album.

most of what will be released in the first half of the year has been announced, so hopefully the second half of the year will yield some unexpected gold. I can't imagine you think the new Bon Jovi album in June is gonna save the year for anybody.
no, but I've already told you what's on my radar so I will end up with a great top 10 like every other year.
And like every other year for the last 10 years the quality will drop off a cliff outside of the top 15-20 releases 🤷

I listen to music 30-35 hours a week and still don't have enough time; so yea there is a lot to listen to, but will my nearly 40 year streak of having a top 10 come to and end? Probably will be able to come with 10 releases by years end but it's looking like the weakest year to date. 2025 is already shaping up to be loaded though.
it's March ffs

As Dan says above, matching their last album is going to be a hell of a task, as it was a brilliant album and one of the best of that year by far. This is a good start though...reallly looking forward to hearing it all
agreed 👍

Don't get all these posts, god forbid you go 2 months without a release. Most people on the site have about 3000 cds, I'm sure you can find something to listen to 😉

You never explained that moment in time travel. Or did they play it live when you saw them? Or they're your neighbours and you overheard them in the garage?
ha ha.It was song of the week feature on a BBC podcast.

A very solid list, but I don't think I class any of those bands as AOR.
IMO, of course.
how is Work of Art not AOR?
It's the very definition of AOR
Also the best album in the list

"a shadow of themselves" is not preferring one over another singer, it is stating that the band is nothing like itself even though the band was around before your favourite singer was even in the band. That is why it is a ridiculous comment. Shouldn't be hard even for you to understand, Tobi.
Well mate here's the deal
Firstly I saw them on their first ever tour with Kenny. Yep was great.
Then I saw them about 10 times with Erik. Each and every time they were utterly fantastic. Erik is a beast live and one of the best singers I've seen period.
Then he leaves and they get Kenny back 10 years on and way past his best imo and quite frankly pretty poor compared to what Erik bought.
For me, no matter how well they play its just not the same without Erik.
If youve never seen the band with Erik you probably wont understand.
So yeah I stand by my comment.
I'll probably never see them live again tbh

sounds a bit too familiar, but I still like it.
Obviously
-
HEAT are a shadow of their former selves now Erik has gone.
Just sayin
-
wonder if it will be on streaming services.
Need to hear it first. last album was great songs with a shit production, almost demo like
-
Cats in Space as well. Always awesome.
To everyone saying rock is dead, every year I have an awesome top 10-15, after that the quality drops off a cliff. Every year is the same.
But personally I'm happy with 10-15 awesome new releases 🤷
And for the record every Tremonti album is completely immense imo. Killer songs, vocals, solos.

I'm looking forward to new Lebrock, Vain (due May apparently), Tremonti, Paul Laine solo, The Effect, WET, Kissin Dynamite & Nestor.

Anyone heard Star yet?? Possibly their best track yet with an amazing guitar solo outro.
released 29.02

no comments??
Listened to this 3 times today and it was like a relentless barage of awesomeness.
2024 has finally begun 😉

What an album. I had never heard Ghost prior to their duet with Joe Elliot on Spillways, but that song blew me away and all my preconceptions of Ghost went out the window. I picked up Impera early in the year and it stayed on rotation for several months and still gets random plays. I picked up their whole back catalogue and the Phantomime EP and while none of the other albums actually comes close to Impera, there is enough great shit on all of their albums and I love the variation in their material.
see them live, they are immense.
My fav is actually Meliora but all the last 3 are equally excellent imo.

I bought 1 CD in 2023, predicting zero for 2024. Never play them anymore 🤷

God forbid anyone should disagree with Geoff

Yeah, I guess the song is solid but the band and production seems a lot tighter than any of his previous solo work. Everything else about the track sounds absolutely top notch - musically and vocally. Top marks for all that, and solid tune. I'd, of course, hope for better songs on the album, but it's definitely all pointed in the right direction. Would be very cool if Affuso played some drums on the album. Whoever's playing on this track, drums sound big, just like they should.
On a side note, I'm glad I'm not one of those folk who lets shit outside music get in the way of my music enjoyment. Eg. I still enjoy Lostprophets music as much as I always did, separate to what Watkins did. And I'm glad I can say that about Bach and his time with Skid Row too as I stumbled across a montage thing the other day of all the absolute fucking drivel he was spitting out during covid. Had no idea he was such a blank-mind pfizer mouthpiece. As humans, I lost absolutely every single ounce of respect I ever had for him (which is a shame as he always came across as a pretty cool dude) and Dee Snider over their pathetic stance on all things covid, but thankfully that has zero bearing on how I enjoy their music. Looking forward to the album.
opinions are like arseholes eh.
as to the new song. It's solid, but would I rush to listen to it again. Prob not.
The whole Skid Row merry go round just annoys me. Bach is an egotistical prick living off past glories, and Erik is wasted in that band, churning out renditions of tired old tracks with a bunch of pensioners.
It's sad that I'll never see him live again 😔
