  1. "Wise Girls" a gangster movie with Mira Sorvino, Mariah Carey and Melora Walters. Pretty good, all the females in it (Carey as well ) were uniformly excellent. It mostly plays in a restaurant where all these Italian/American mobsters hang out. You can watch it with the wives as well, but there's some nasty violence in it as well...
  2. Haven't seen it (yet) Rycheage, but what did you think of "The Reaping"? Watched "The Faculty" again (after many years) yesterday, I now liked it a lot more as the first time.
  3. Hey, I saw "Cinderella Man" yesterday too ! The disc had been in my 'to watch pile' for a few months and I finally came around to see it. Wow ! Loved it as well, and then some. I'm sure the name "Cinderella Man" kept a lot of guys away from the theatre, because it sounds so gay but this is just a great movie. Loved Crowe and Giamatti, the story ,the music, the fights, well it was all great. Sweet sweet movie, one of the best US made movies of the last years i.m.o.
  4. Haha, yes Nick, that IS the most savage scene of all Disney movies. The whole Dumbo movie isn't exactly a happy one is it ? Strange, strange movie that is. I fact, the scene I described earler isn't a sad one, but a very joyful one ! Go figure. Am I a sap ? (hahaha).
  5. What a nice topic, here's my story. About a year and a half ago I went with my then 4 year old son to "Pooh's Heffalump Movie" an animated Disney movie aimed at the 0-8 crowd. The big themes of the movie were "acceptance" and "friendship". I had the kid sitting on my lap laughing and connecting with what went on on the big screen, it was the ultimate movie to see with a kid of that age and I'm pretty sure the dad liked it as much as his son. When the very sweetly voiced main characters Lumpy and Little Roo finally got back together after a dangerous adventure and they ran towards each other a HUGE anthemic Carly Simon sung song blasted out of the speakers over scenes of Lumpy and Roo re-uniting and being really happy and my eyes filled up really fast right there and then. You know, it's Disney. They do these things really well, it's not for nothing the Disney Empire got so big and famous.
  6. "Skinned Deeper" the directorial debut by Gabe Bartalos, monster maker extraordinaire. Great movie, it's like a cross between (the original) "Texas Chainsaw Massacre", Peter Jackson's "Brain Dead" and the "Basket Case" trilogy. "Skinned Deeper" also has Warwick Davis in it who plays "Plates", a crazy little freak who kills the innocent by throwing eh, plates at 'em (with very nasty results). The little bugger dies an extremely gruesome death in it by the way, this movie ain't "Willow"..
  7. Lee Aaron ! Alexa Anastasia ! Chrissy Steele ! Wonderful voices, wonderful faces, wonderful bodies !
