  1. Excellent first guess. 2 out of 5 correct, but not in their correct slots. The other 3 made my honorable mention list.
  2. Ok, my top 5 finally in place, so... It's time once again for folks to guess my top 5 albums of 2023 and then make fun of me for such ludicrous choices The contest goes like this: 1. Someone posts their guess in 1,2,3,4,5 order. 2. I reply saying how many of the 5 guessed albums are correct, and also how many are in correct spots (without stating explicitly WHICH ones are correct or in correct slots). 3. Next person guesses based upon prior guesses and my feedback. 4. Only one attempt per person... until we run out of active members participating. Let the games commence! -Dan
  3. Don't like Mahomes. They've been too successful in recent years; tired of seeing them. They beat the Eagles in the SB last year. I'm tired of Taylor Swift. Not really a Ravens fan either, but at least it's been a while since they've been in the SB. Of the 4 remaining teams, I'd like to see the fighting Dan Campbells win. It's been a looooooooong time since the Lions have been relevant.
  4. Go Detroit and Baltimore. Hate the 49ers, loathe the Chefs.
  5. Not my thing exactly, a bit too monotone vocally, but some here might dig it.
  6. Heh. Was just going to post this. Excellent stuff!
  7. For fans of classic prog rock. Very melodic stuff. Out March 1, 2024 on InsideOut Records.
  8. And Dallas shit the bed yet again. BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! No matter how badly the Eagles pissed away their season, this will give me enough warm fuzzies to last until September.
  9. Yeah, it was close for a quarter and a half, but the two back-to-back pick-6 thrown by Flacco just killed them. (I know, I know, I said I wasn't gunna watch. So I lied... I won't be watching Monday night. )
  10. Musically I like it, but there's something about the vocals that puts me off...
  11. Album Insanium out March 15, 2024 on InsideOut. Dino Jelusick (vocals) Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal (guitar) Derek Sherinian (keys) Yas Nomura (bass) Bruno Valverde (drums)
  12. Not watching. My eagles choked away the season down the stretch. Idiot coach has lost the locker room. It's obvious now that losing both OC and DC at the same time crippled the team and it was their success last year, not Siriani's. Eagles will fold like a cheap tent on Monday. Buccaneers by 10.
  13. Blaming bootlegs or streaming for failings as a playing musician seems to be a bit misplaced IMO. There are plenty of bands making it work, admittedly making far more from touring than from CD sales... things evolve and change.
  14. Won't be everyone's cup of tea, as there are both harsh and clean vocals, but IMO this is stellar material.
  15. I feel a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened... there is a late-year monumental shift in Dan's Top 5 for 2023. A new contender has entered the fray.
  16. Excuse you? It seems like the only reason you're here on the forum is to perpetually shit on ADV. You don't like him, fine. He's overutilized, we get it. Heck, I don't particularly care for his cookie-cutter pain-by-numbers approach, but it is what it is. Now, when you turn the corner and start namecalling with longtime members, that crosses the line. Lighten up or take a hike.
  17. This album was wacky, but enjoyable. It won't make my top 5 list, but it was a pleasant surprise. Apparently the band has been around for like 15 years. Some of the songs are bizarre blends of pop, punk, and metal, but infectious. This track is likely my favorite from the album.
