That makes sense. Detroit already looks like a war zone so they wouldn't have to build (and then destroy) sets.

Hmm....looks like these film-rehashers are goin' for the 'Urban Guerilla' slant on this version. I guess some other cities weren't quite as an appealing target for them, er, the menacers this time 'round! :D

  6. Welp, after three weeks the standoff is over. Food Network returned to Cablevision on Thursday night. Thank goodness! I was going into "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" withdrawal!

Excellente! Let the  of Rachael, Giadia & your other faves :tits: resume! :bananamac: Dive in & dine til your content! ;)

  7. My take: I don't care. They had some good early releases and I liked Permanent Vacation, Get A Grip and Pump but after those...boring.

Just my opinion, obviously they have a big history and following.

    Completely agree 100% Jeff.

I mostly agree as well. I do think it sux that they're leavin' it up in the air, so to speak, & the fans are left wonderin' one way or the other whether they continue as Aerosmith, or retire that band, or begin again with another, new name. :screwy: I would hope that the fellas would decide asap, then move forward in whichever direction & not leave some of their fans hangin'. <_<

Ronnie James Dio Gives Cancer Update

    1/21/2010 By Keith Carman

An update has been released on former Black Sabbath singer Ronnie James Dio and his battle with stomach cancer. In a statement to fans, his wife and manager, Wendy Dio, reports that since his November diagnosis, the legendary rocker has made progress.

She writes: “[He] has had a few hiccups between Christmas and New Year's. [He has] had a blood clot, a trip to the emergency room and a three-day stay at the hospital. Ronnie had his third chemotherapy treatment, and all seems to be going well.”

As an aside, despite being picked on by Dio in a number of interviews over the years, his Sabbath predecessor, Ozzy Osbourne, recently told Rolling Stone, “I'm sorry to hear about Ronnie having cancer. It must be really fucking scary for the poor boy.”

It's a sweet sentiment, but to get disgustingly technical/geeky, Dio is actually six years older than Osbourne.

  9. Aerosmith Holding Auditions for Replacement Singer

    1/21/2010 By Josiah Hughes

Someone needs to send the members of Aerosmith a Google Wave invite, because they clearly need some help with their collaborating and communication skills. The last few months have seen all kinds of contradictory rumours from the band. Sometimes, Steven Tyler is quitting; other times, he's just taking a few years off. Then there's the quotes where he says he isn't going anywhere. Now, guitarist Joe Perry has announced that the band are auditioning replacement singers.

According to a Reuters report, Perry said that by February he hopes to “start having some auditions, making some phone calls. Hopefully, we'll have found a new singer by the summer, and Aerosmith will be able to go back out on the road.” He also said that the replacement singer would be involved with new material.

This doesn't mean that Steven Tyler is out of the band for good, however. As Perry said, “It's kind of hard to get a straight answer about what's going on... He has to have leg surgery and foot surgery and it's basically going to take him out of the picture for about a year, year-and-a-half. So, in the meantime, the rest of the band want to play. And I want to play with the other guys in Aerosmith. So the four of us are just making our plans. We're gonna find somebody to get in there and fill that spot. Just like when Tom [Hamilton] was sick — we got David Hull to come in and play bass. When [guitarist] Brad [Whitford] was sick, we got somebody else to come in and play for him. That's basically how I look at it; we need another singer to fill in.”

Tyler is expected to be fronting the band again in 2011, when they celebrate their 40th anniversary. In the meantime, they'll be recruiting a new singer. Or maybe Steven Tyler will change his mind again. All the while, much younger bands will be making infinitely more interesting music.
