  5. Happy day of your birth to you! Go treat yourself to a couple hundred CDs. (You know, like any other day.)
  6. Dawn crept slowly over the golf course. It seemed she had lost her car keys on the ninth green.
  7. Word for word backed. Other bands such as Venom and maybe even Raven came before, but Metallica was the first band to put thrash metal into focus as an art form as opposed to just noise and speed. And truthfully, Kill 'Em All was great, but Ride the Lightning was really the most pioneering album of their catalog, followed closely by Master of Puppets. Recognize.

    Hello

    Welcome to the boards!
  9. Have a great birthday Maddman!
  10. Purhaps a little more info on that LOVE AFFAIR c.d.? Songs that would fit equally well on "Attention Shoppers" or "Coliseum Rock". Catchy, hooky, melodic, guitar driven hard rock from 1980. Highly recommended!
  11. As chronicled elsewhere, I picked up Love Affair's self-titled debut, which I highly recommend to any fans of Starz or 70s style pop rock in general. I also got Champion "Halfway to Heaven", a completely overlooked but awesome AOR release from the 80s.
  12. One of these things is not like the others/One of these things just doesn't belong...
  13. In a clean and tidy state I hope........ Hell no...there are Grilled Peanut Butter and Banana sandwiches every where...and empty pill bottles... I just hope he,at least, cleaned the toilet.......... Not only did he not clean it, but the king left a hunka hunka burning love!
  14. Hottie? No, "Wotty". Can't you read?
  15. Although I am well aware that Sam and Retrospect Records have had their detractors on this board, I wanted to share my experience and give them the props they deserve. I had been waiting for a company to release the CDs from local Cleveland rockers Love Affair for many years. When I happened on the Retrospect site and saw that both of the Love Affair albums were available on CD as well as their third unreleased album I was pretty excited. I was even more jacked when I did some more searching and found Champion (another local favorite) and their very fine album "Halfway to Heaven" for sale as well. After sending out a few feelers to folks who had purchased from the company for their opinions, I felt comfortable doing business with Retrospect and ordered the Love Affair self-titled CD and the Champion CD over the internet. Then the bad stuff happened. In about a week the package arrived in my mailbox. Or at least, what was left of the package. When I lifted out the envelope it rattled like a fifty piece jigsaw puzzle...not a good sign. Opening it up over the kitchen table, I had to literally turn the envelope upside down to dump out the contents. Smashed plastic and shredded paper fell everywhere. The Love Affair disc was just a bit scratched, but the Champion disc was cracked from the edge to the center hole. It looked like someone at the post office had a hammer, a brick and a large rock and was testing to see which would do the most damage to a jewel case. Seriously, I have bought and traded through the mail for awhile and I have NEVER seen anything like that. I was really deflated and irritated. Anyway, I emailed Retrospect and although I tried to be polite I was probably a bit of a jerk. (Did I mention that I REALLY love those discs?) I left the house and took a walk with my wife to cool off, assuming I'd hear from Retrospect in a day or two. Then the good stuff happened. Sam got back to me within the hour. He apologized for the post office. He did not question my veracity. He just said he would be sending replacements immediately, no strings attached. Even when I emailed him back and offered to send the product back or at least take a picture and send it to him so he could protect himself (I was a first time customer, remember) Sam said he trusted me and not to worry about it. So, again, I waited and assumed it would be another week or so and I would finally get my CDs. The CDs came three business days later. In perfect condition. And I am listening to Champion RIGHT NOW! Oohhh...yes. So to Sam and Retrospect Records, I say THANK YOU! You have made me a customer for life. :headbanger:
  16. Happy Birthday! I hope you get some real rocks!
  17. "Must you always bring up that trip?" he snapped while plucking out an eyeball.
  18. I agree with you. But it was uncanny how Shanahan could get the most out of the position no matter who was playing it. I wrote a silly article about that for Bleacher Report last year. You can read it here. (<----shameless) Anyway, I was happy to see my Browns trade out of the five slot and get some extra picks, until they drafted a center that they might have to turn into a guard. Let's see how the Cavs are doing...
  19. Well, if I'd known you were on fire I wouldn't have asked you to get the groceries, now would I?
  20. Dude, this poll is all over the place. I think I'm gonna hold out for the Pantera vs. Slayer vs. Armored Saint vs. Merciful Fate vs. The Wiggles poll.
  21. Just saw the remake of "The Day the Earth Stood Still" last night with my wife. This film was preachy, implausible, poorly acted (paging Mr. Reeves, Mr. Keanu Reeves), and the dialogue was ridiculous. And those were its good points!
  22. Yeh i could see you riding a big Willy... Oh! I love that movie--"Free Your Willy"
  23. You need a license to ride fish in Montana.
