This is a tough one. 1989 was the year I got into hard rock music. There are so many on this list that I could never part with. Before anyone says what about this band and what about that album, I can only list 20 and I only listed the albums that to me anyway got the most attention in America. Unfortunately I had to leave off Little Ceasar, Bonham, Banshee, and many others.

For me this comes down to Vain, Skid Row, Badlands, and XYZ.

My choice has to be Vain- No Respect

with Skid Row a very very very close second

although now that I think of it, I'd have liked to see on this list Pink Cream 69 - S/T, Lillian Axe - Love and War, Leatherwolf - Street Ready, Treat - Organized Crime, Motley Crue - Dr. Feelgood and Diving For Pearls - S/T. 1989 was definately one of the best years ever, if not the best.

This is for debut albums only. So that would rule out Motley, Leatherwolf, and Lillian Axe. As far as PC 69 goes you can only put 20 on the poll and I think there were at least 30 worth including so it was tough which ones to cut

:) Tough call but I had to go with Babylon A.D. here... Skid Row would be a close second but after the 10 millionth airing of "I Remember You" and/or "18 And Life" on MTV, radio, VH1 Classic, etc. I hardly ever want to listen to that CD again

Kinda strange, I like the Vain release the best... but voted for Bad English. Silly...maybe, Stupid... maybe... just think the Band English release stands the test of time better.

My choice would have been Strangeways - Walk In The Fire, but of the ones listed

Giant - Last Of The Runaways - (which in my original list was a healthy 3rd) Superb album.

Honorable mentions to D2, Bad English & Signal not too far behind!!!
