MAGICTOUCH
Natural progression as sometimes bands have years to culminate material for a debut and then are left with a void of top notch material for a second, and then other times bands start to peak after their debut...I haven't voted yet, not sure which to vote for
JLPRocks
That was a VERY tough choice!!!!!! Lots of GREAT albums to choose from!!!
Kim_Hp
Yeah, that was hard... but I have to go with "Tooth And Nail" as it's one of my all time favourites and also a huge improvement after the somewhat mediocre debut. SATD comes close second...
zacharyamelie
I would pick Extreme, they aren't on the list but the improvement from the solid self titled release in 1989 and the masterpiece Pornograffitti in 1991, is....historical. From the poll list I enjoy Cherry Pie more than DRFSR from Warrant.
Lobo
Had to go with Def Leppard - High and Dry....My fave Lep CD...if it was their 3rd effort would definitely go with Dokken - Under Lock and Key.......All of the above cds are essential though...hard choice
LV KIX
This a a tough one. Came down to Dokken and Ratt. Very close but I'm going with Ratt.

But the very first title that entered my mind when I saw the title of the thread was: L.A. GUNS' Cocked and Loaded

2023 Gold Donors headbanger4life Posted December 27, 2005 2023 Gold Donors Report Share Posted December 27, 2005 I had to go with the Lep's on this one. This was a fantastic release. I love Bringin' On The Heartbreak (I can't believe what Mariah Carey did to this song).
clayman32
High N Dry definitely. It's still my favorite Def Lep album, and one of my top five favorites of all time.
Captain Howdy
Most people I know consider Fahrenheit to be the weakest of the early Jovi material, myself included! As for the others,I really dunno what to vote for! I'd agree with it being criminal that Extreme & LA Guns were missed off,but I would also add Cinderella & Enuff Z' Nuff to that list, plus, maybe not a popular opinion, but I'd also say Britny Fox! Evil Rick
I voted for RATT but the first band I thought of before seeing the choices was Firehouse. I thought Hold Your Fire was a great follow up to their debut.
swriter
for me, without a doubt, a landslide for MCrue-Shout, behind that number one spot for me is DLep-High, and Dokken-Tooth coming in 3rd
Studboy
I voted for Motley all the way. For Ratt - Invasion of Your Privacy was actually their third CD, Out Of The Cellar was their sophmore CD. Now that would be a tough call between Shout and Cellar as to which is the best sophmore CD of all time.
Dr. Feelgood
Had to be Shout At The Devil, though Cinderella's inclusion on the list would have made it a tough choice!
Kip
if you're comparing it to the first album, then its definately Def Leppard. If you're not, it's probably still Def Leppard.
Jez
My vote definately goes with Def Leppard - fantastic album and still one of their strongest releases. The Crue album is great, but still play the debut alot more. Whilst I like 7800, nowhere near the terrific debut!!!.
Captain Howdy
I consider Shout at the devil to be at least equal to Too fast for love! I dont think it was any better or any worse than the debut! 7800 had some great tracks on it,but was nowhere near as cohesive as the album before or after it! I prefer Pyromania Def Leppard onwards! Not a big Dokken fan at all! Invasion of your privacy was Ratts third release as the original self titled album/EP is classed as an album by most,so I'll rule that one out! So that just leaves me with Poison & Warrant! Its a tough call between them, but I would go with Warrant purely on the basis of the length of the album & the destinct lack of filler on it! I'd like to say Poison as they are my equal fave band with Crue, but the album was just too short. At least they have had a more consistant career! Blue Charvel
That was a VERY tough choice!!!!!! Lots of GREAT albums to choose from!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not easy, I love most of those, Def Lep almost getting my vote. I went with Warrant 'cause that disc is just f'n perfect (with the excpetion of the CC Deville solo on the title track... ).

Doksdad
I went with Dokken as I still feel that their debut is one of their weakest albums (Shadowlife aside). I also prefer the S/T vs. 7800 Farenheit. Also I think the debut Ratt album has better songs (at least more of them) than Breaking the Chains. I tend to gravitate toward the debuts by Poison and Warrant too. The only real challenger to the Dokken answer was Def Leppard. I love the High N Dry album. Also, Too Fast For Love is too good of an album to vote against it!! Nice poll Magic
heaven&hell
I went with Def Leppard - High n Dry but it hurts me not to pick Crue's Shout at the Devil.
metalmaniac777
I went with Warrant...the debut was a really good album, but they really hit their stride with "Cherry Pie," serving up bigger hooks and better production (that Beau Hill knew how to work some magic back in the day, eh?). 2023 Gold Donors & then Posted May 28, 2006 2023 Gold Donors Report Share Posted May 28, 2006 I went with Dokken, but I must say this is one of the toughest poll's! Most, if not all, of the bands were really in stride with these releases. The combination of Dokken's melody & Lynch's fretworks are exceptional, but Warrant & Crue's releases' were & are still up there! Man, this was a tough one! T-BONE
I think Skid Row - Slave To The Grind shoulda been on there, but I went for Ratt
