Shelter "First Stop"

Faust

Recommended Posts

I've saw on the web that the Shelter's album is on sale... Is it finally edited on CD ? Someone heard this record ? Is it a good, bad or essential ?

Thank you.

Yep - out on CD now. I have my copy coming tomorrow, hopefully!!!. If you like typical early - mid 80's US AOR, then I think you will definately like it.

Un autre de ces albums qui a ete pratiquement ignore alors. Un album tres tres bon. Achetez-le sans hesitation mon garcon!!!!

Thank you guys, i will command it as soon as possible despite the ugly cover (hope to hear a copy before...). Meanwhile, i don't understand why "Secrets You Keep" isn't yet edited on CD ... It's a mystery for me...

Faust -

Got this one this morning. Still sounds pretty good, although the Remastering on it is hardly breath taking, especially on the fade out of the tracks - could have done a better job of it myself. I suppose it depends on what this was remastered from (vinyl I should think!!!!). For a 20+ year old release it soundes decent enough though, but don't expect perfection.

Hi Jez

A few questions :

- Is there an inlay booklet ?

- Which is the label which publishes this CD? You know if this same label has as a project to also publish "Secrets You Keep"?

I suspect that the sound should not be extraordinary, but the simple fact that this album is published out of CD more than 20 years after it is already extraordinary... Indisputably, for me, it is a priority purchase with the republication of Preview in February. :drink:

There is No booklet, just an insert with all the details.

The Label/Maison De Disques is Porcelain/Polydor

Don't know about the label for 'Secrets You Keep' as I have never heard it.

It is good to have this on CD finally, and the sound IS fine for an Old release, so don't worry too much about it. Still definately worth getting.

Je suis d'accord avec vous au sujet de L'Album De 'Preview'. Au sujet du temps celui-ci etait officiellement libere - un grand grand degagement pour sur - moi attendent avec interet Fevrier annee prochain!!!

Thank you for your answers...

"Secrets You Keep" is a great album of the 80's from my point of view. Does nobody know what became Joe Lamont (aka Joe Lamente)? It is rather strange i find that it thus disappeared from the musical scene...

It seems that Joe Lamont is co-signed a track with Dan Lucas for one of the "Nightmare On Elm Streets" movies. But after long research i never found this title which apparently was not selected for the final score. Perhaps does there exist of different projects carried out by Joe Lamont that i doesn't know?

Preview (like PRISM "Beat Streets" or the Don Barnes "Ride The Storm") formed part of the jewels of the 80's which I hope for one day to have out of CD (for PRISM, it is made!). It makes too a long time that I use my copies on my musicplayer...

PS : Arg ! Tell me Jez if my english is too bad. I hope you understand my words. Sorry...

Your Anglais is Tres Bien mate. I have the 'Small Change' album and never really rated it that much, although 'Rain' & 'Don't Let Him Know' are great songs. I have always viewed it (along with the 'Beat Street' album) as more Henry Small solo albums.

The Don Barnes really should be released as it is great. There are 2 tracks from it on the forthcoming 'Khymera' album, so check that out in a couple of weeks when it is released.

Got it ! Excellent tunes but i prefer the originals versions more catchy (despite the sound)... "Looking for you" is a fantastic track.

Hunted through the archives for this one...

Anyone know where I might be able to find this CD? The samples I've heard sound really nice, but no sign of the CD on any sites I buy CDs from. If not, any chance of a few MP3s?

Pretty cool AOR album this one. As mentioned in earlier posts, the production is a little rough sounding in places but more than acceptable and considering the original release date it really is quite good. I'm uploading it for you right now.
