Animal, who do Soulseeker sound like??

Kinda in the Vein of Killer Dwarfs in the vocal Dept and maybe Dokken(early) in the music ..but the production on it is as good as the majors of the time...

Here's some info that may help you track the SOULSEEKER CD. I've had this cd for a long time and so do some of the top collectors. It's great you're discovering it now. The main man in the band is ERICH HEADRICK. This indie was released in 1995 in MD. It's a tough one to track but I've seen it on Ebay in the past. No bids too! ERICH is a member of Ebay and can be contacted though his Ebay name called themusicplan

His website offers other e-mail addresses, phone numbers and even has MP3s of all the songs all the CD. His website is: http://www.ioffer.com/users/themusicplan

There's a phone number too: 831-477-1234, e-mail is info@themusicplan.com (try his Ebay one too)

He's in the Santa Cruz area these days. Other band member names are Scott Payne, Johnny Nitro and Noel Williams. With a little Google searching you'll find these guys and maybe a cd like some others. Metalmayhem is in discussion for a reissue and it looks good. Hope this helps. It's a great CD that all should be able to get someday soon!

I just tried the mp3s on the site. They are not working right now but they were working not long ago. Regardless, it's one of the best indies you'll ever hear. Looks like cdrs are the best bet until Erich responds back. His Ebay name was the best way to contact him or the phone number. Good luck!

You guys seriously ROCK!

You dont know how good it makes me feel to know the music was appreciated. As mentioned in this post the original was re-released with a demo song that I used to "try" Scott out for the band, the song "Do What You Want". Since they were doing a collectors release I felt it would be cool to add a piece of history. There was also a video that Metal Mayhem was authorized to distribute to the purchasers of the CD. Anyone that purchased that CD can contact me directly and I will be happy to get it for them.

Over the years things change. The band in the form that was on the CD dis-banded in 1996. It was a case where we were so self sufficient without any support and could not compete with the direction of the music industry at that time. All of the members were under a high amount of stress from either relationships, or in my case financial hardship with kids on the way.

I often think of getting them back on stage because we were brothers. I will go to my grave with all of them in my heart and truly wish them well with whatever they do.

With that said, I have another record on the block that I am hoping to release in 2010. This is one that I came to California to record in 2001 and if you liked the SoulSeeker release, you'll absolutely love this one. It is heavy, gritty and down right mean sounding. The lineup of the project is yet to be decided and ALL of the music has already been done by yours truly.

Again, I want to stress that this thread that I found today totally makes all the sweat put into that record worth it.

May god bless you all!

Erich Headrick

    • No official release yet so don't know when exactly the album is supposed to come out but I'm assuming it's this year. I'm sure you're all brimming with excitement.
    • I posed him that exact question on his discord page as to what his future plans are.... He said he plans to relax for a bit, do his You Tube thing, keep writing new music and then will decide how to release that music.  He said as of now he's thinking he'll either do a solo thing or form his own band.  He didn't say this but I'd sort of envision a Daughtry type "band" where he kind of puts a band behind his name. So essentially, I think you're right on with his plans.  Ultimately, I think like you say, the control is a big part of it.  I think he wants to be able to operate on his own schedule to maintain his health and family obligations. It'll be interesting to see what sound the new material takes on.  It would seem logical to think it would be rock/melodic rock of some sort since that's really the type of music he's built his following with but he certainly has shown he can dabble anywhere from AOR to metal.
    • Glad I got to see them with Erik in front. All the best to him, definitely looking forward to his future outings when he is fully recovered. Would be cool to see him form his own band, where he could take control, and play around in different genres, from full on metal, to soothing AOR, the guy is so versatile.
    • Remedy - Crying Heart. One I've just seen thanks to the Iridium channel.  From the upcoming album. It's a Killer.
    • Let's not forget Benny Hill. What a Magnificent show that was.
    • Yeah... I dunno about that. It would be too cringe. Who knows? If I'm high enough, I might submit a video.
    • Yep great track and if you fancy being in the video for "The Feeling" nows your chance.
    • I'm proud to say that I had this single when I was a mere 8 years old. KISS were big down here then. Norman Gunston is Iconic for Aussies of my vintage.  The face ln the bottom left says it all. Hilarious.
    • All in all, this is a great story. Erik played a brilliant, well received, albeit short cameo with one of our favourite bands.  It was a win, win, win. A win for us, a win for Skid Row (the album certainly put them back on the map) and a win for Erik, adding this to his already impressive resume. The fact that it was so amicable with both parties is also great to see.
    • I really like this album - not every song on it but there are some surprisingly catchy melodies all over. Personally I think the singer adds great energy to the mix. It reminds me of the earlier Bai Bang ("closer to you")
