LED ZEPPELIN- FAVORITE STUDIO ALBUM

There hasn't been to many polls on any bands that came out before the 80's.

So what's everyone's fav Zeppelin release?

 

For me it comes down to Zeppelin II, Houses of the Holy, IV, and Physical Graffiti.

 

When I first got into this band I think II was my favorite but as I've gotten older I think that Physical Graffiti is their best.

 

 

 

I'm sure IV will get the most votes but then again I've been suprised in these polls before.

Zep are the Kings IMO. I didn't like them in my teens but now I love 'em!!! Physical Graffiti is Killer so It get's my vote...Houses of

the Holy would be 2nd...

I went with II by a hair over Physical Graffiti with my favorite song being "Tangerine" from III.

The toughest poll to choose from to date.I went with Physical Graffiti but all their albums are good.I reckon "In Through The Out Door" is one hell of an underrated album.

Ok, studio album? I went with III, it has different styles, beats & great songs. 'Since I've been...." is a fantastic blues song & how many bands were bold/crazy enough (at that time) to mention a Tolkien reference in a song? Yep, there is 1. If this was for favorite studio 2 lp's, I would go with Physical Grafitti in a second. They also took quite some time off before recording it, too. (I think 2 yrs?) Although 'Presence' has and is 1 of my personal fav's. Good & tough (for me at least ) poll!

I like III alright but it's not in my top 5. I love the 1st side but the second side has to many fillers. 'Since I've been loving you" is an amazing song though.

In order, I would go with.

1- Physical Graffiti. {By the smallest of margins to IV}

2- IV.

3- Houses Of The Holy.

4- In Through The Out Door.

5- II.

6- Presence.

7- III.

8- Led Zeppelin.

9- Coda.

 

And in saying that, even the albums at 7,8 and 9 are still very highly regarded as being great albums

The first thing you'll notice is that IV for me is not that highly rated. This is on a personal level because it's just too overplayed for me. Years of being played every three seconds on the classic rock stations has scarred me. I am not disregarding the overall excellence of the release!

Never been much of a Zep fan. After having them drilled into my head every couple of minutes by rock radio for most of my life, I have never felt particularly compelled to buy many of their albums.

 

I have "IV" (aka "Zoso") on cassette but that's it. So I guess I vote for that one.
