The Electric Boys have a PledgeMusic campaign underway to support their new album.  Based on the info available, the guys are currently in the studio and the band is striving for an August release.  Two songs have been made available for streaming so far.

The band announced that the official release date will be Nov 23 via Mighty Music.  The first single/video should be out in late September.  Based on the track listing, the two singles released earlier in year are not on the upcoming album.

Poppier and more of a radio song than usual.

Sounds like Electric Boys.... I like it!

 

They've always had a left-of-center unique sound that seems to bound together a lot of different era's of rock, groove and funk. Not everyone's cup of tea, but I love it.

Album is pretty much what you would expect from the band. A mix and match of styles, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Another cool release.

Ohhh, this is a good one.

Possibly their best.
First listen was great.
Couple of duds, one because it was a boring instrumental, and one because it was a crappy song, but some of the others were fantastic.
Will likely be top 5 for me this year.

Very pleasant surprise. Nice album indeed. Not sure it's a top 5 but it's certainly a very good album. Maybe even their second best.

Also not a big fan of Rich Man Poor Man

The instrumental is the other one I'll leave out of my Electric Boys folder.

Which leaves 7 songs which is pretty damn good.

Holy shit! I was gonna say "Love is a Funny Feeling" is my favourite track on the album, and might even be my favourite song of the year. It's just so undeniably Funky.

It reminds me too much of one of their older songs.

Like they were trying to replicate that and came up with a B grade version.

I think it's well known that I'm the biggest Electric Boys fan on this site, but I'm struggling to think of what song of theirs it sounds like.

I don't know, I like some of the funky stuff. Maybe there's a bit of Basf in there, or Junk In The Trunk?

Nothing major, but only hints here and there, and not really an issue. Not the reason I'm not a big fan of the song.
