Paul Di'Anno & Dennis Stratton - The Original Iron Men

Recommended Posts

The two ex-Iron Maiden members Paul Di'Anno and Dennis Stratton made two albums back in the 90's together I've never heard of. Wonder anyone knows them here. The music is a mix of melodic metal/hard rock/AOR and I found it quite good.

I remember seeing (and laughing at) that terrible album cover when I saw it in a store, but never heard 'em before.

lol

Iron Men = Ned Kelly?

Dennis Stratton means nothing to me, and probably to 99% of people who are Maiden fans.
DiAnno was great, his S/T band was great
Battlezone was average.

This Iron Men thing smacks of a gimmick to cash in to me.

In briefly checking out these songs/videos it seems odd that they are all Fastway songs (Lea Hart era).  I recall hearing about them collaborating on an album and I've seen that cover before, but have never heard anything from it until just now.

You are joking right?

Any true Maiden fan knows their history, including Stratton and Burr.

Seriously tell me how many times you went and saw Stratton play with Maiden.
or Heard Maiden albums with him singing?

I know the history, I am aware of him. But it means nothing.

Tell me, would you be interested in hearing a Michael O'Neill/Fran Karuba album?

These are FASTWAY songs, when Lea Hart was the singer.

You know Stratton was not a singer in Maiden?

What does it matter how many times I saw him? You said he means nothing to 99% of Maiden fans, and I said you are wrong.

Burr, Stratton, Dianno are as important to the Maiden legacy as Harris and Murray, and to say any of them means nothing to 99% fans is ridiculous, just because you dont care. Come to their home land and you will find your opinion is pretty much worthless.

Are they as big as Dickinson & Harris? Of course not, but nobody but nobody would disregard the guys who played on the early albums and EPs etc.

Yeah, sorry for a second I got confused with the original vocalist who wasn't on any album.
Stratton played On the first one?

Burr  has some importance to me, obviously Dianno, but most of the rest were just guys filling spots while the band established itself.

Same with Bayley. He's really not that important to Iron Maiden history to me.

Look at Dianno now. He's just a dude who sung on a couple of good albums>
I liked his ST album, and I really liked Gogmagog (all 3 songs) but aside from that Battlezone was pretty average and he's making a living doing whatever he does.
I doubt I'd bother going to see him sing.
