There was a time where I was able to get into the screams. Y&B Attack & THWTD etc

Not sure why I can't now.

Either I have changed, or maybe the songs aren't as catchy

I prefer MS solo stuff these days. More melodic, lower range etc

I can't argue with that.  I like the last few Styper albums, but the material isn't as catchy as the songs he wrote during the 80's and early 90's.  I prefer Soldiers, THWTD, Against the Law and his solo debut over the new stuff

Just can't get into this album. Seems disjointed and Michael is shrieking just for the sake of shrieking.

Oh, and that lead off track... what the everloving FUCK?

Michael needs to say 147 Hail Marys for inflicting that abomination upon our ears.

Looks like this album and Michaels attitude is starting to backfire.

A bunch of large retailers in the USA are refusing to carry it due to the name of the album.

https://nashvillepublicity.prezly.com/walmart-refuses-to-carry-chart-topping-christian-rock-bands-new-album#

And due to Michaels so called "christian" attitude of attacking anyone who says a bad word about these songs, he is getting a hell of a lot of shit from fans.

Of course he still has those suck ups who hang on his every word, but I do get a feeling that this album will sell in lower numbers than previous releases.

I have said it before, but I am suffering from serious Michael Sweet burn out with all the stuff he keeps releasing as it is all starting to wash over me, with very little stand out songs. And now his attitude is making it harder and harder to actually give a shit about him or his music.

Walmart barely stocks any CDs in their stores nowadays anyway, so this is kind of a non-issue. If you're not a top 40 pop or country act, you're not getting rack space there, no matter what your album title is.

Apparently you can still order it online from Wal-Mart's web site tho, so much for corporate morality I guess. :D

That song is terrible, and I agree that his voice is a bit extreme in places on this one. But I guess if you've been a fan of Stryper in the past it shouldn't really be a turn off... even if a bit more over-the-top than before.

But. Apart from a few mishaps, I didn't mind the album. I thought it sounded pretty decent. More spins to be had, though.

Got my copy of this in yesterday's mail - broke it in during the ride to work this AM.

Quickie first spin impression: Me likee. :D If you dug the last couple of records (I did) then you should like this one as well.

Frighteningly enough, I think that mongoloid chorus in "Take It To The Cross" is actually kinda growing on me!! :yikes:

Bar a couple of tracks, absolutely Bog average in every sense

Exactly. Plenty of over-singing on this too. The songs just aren't that good this time around.

    • Not much information on the video's page, other than it appears to be an AI creation. Once it gets into the verse and especially the chorus, it's actually not too bad IMO.
    • While I appreciate your interest in contributing to the site, most of the artists and albums you are submitting are either REALLLLLLY stretching the boundaries, or as in the case of this band, completely off the mark. No alternagrunge. No punk. No death metal/power metal (although those can be submitted to Brutal Metal). You can always start a thread asking about a particular artist before blindly submitting it for inclusion. Thanks! -Dan
