New Wave Of Old School Thrash Metal

Any thrashers out there? Just discovered some of these new (European) bands and I really dig 'em. Talking about energy and feeling young again.

Yeah, definitely old school. Cool solos, too on Brutal Decay and Soul Erazor.

Not bad...although the Exodus influence is obvious to my ears which isn't a bad thing but a little more originality would be nice...thought I was hearing that with Crisix and then the vocals cut in...lol

Know what you're saying. My favourite is Dust Bolt off them and they got a lot of Sepultura and crossover influence, but the strange thing is I rather listen to this newbies than the original artists who try to recreate their own sounds. More energy, more groove with these new bands.

This used to be one of my favorite subgenres when I was in high school. I'm not nearly as much into it these days but I remember this album being HUGE at the time:

 

There are a lot of others I used to like such as Municipal Waste, Gama Bomb, Toxic Holocaust, etc. but they all have such little replay value that I fell out of love pretty quickly. Fun scene though!

I grew up on the old school thrash bands like Slayer, Sepultura, Megadeth... etc. As for me it's good to know there are still good bands in this era.

More in the death metal genre, but these guys deserves recognition outside the borders of Denmark, as they are immensely talented.
