Without an in-depth analysis right at this time, I feel like it's been a good year in 2016. I feel like my top 10 is going to be extremely strong. A lot of excellent individual tunes too.

2016, for me's, been a pretty average year. A few very very good albums, and plenty I've really enjoyed but not much I can see myself digging out in a few years.

 

Let's hope 2017 deals up a classic album , or two.

 

Judging at a glance by my top 100 of the last five years, 2016 still comes up with the worst but by a very thin margin and 2014 is still the best year, but the result is totally different when you only compare each year's top 20.

 

Overall, 2016 is still a very pleasant year and some sensible gems like FIRST SIGNAL, VEGA, WHITE WIDDOW, NORDIC UNION, DEFIANTS, TED POLEY, PALACE, WIGELIUS, TREAT, and CRY OF DAWN should be in most people top 20 list.

 

And also some lesser-picked stuffs like PARIS, RICK SPRINGFIELD, RADIO SUN, THEANDER EXPRESSION, TESTAMENT, JACE PAWLAK, ROB MORATTI, CRUZH, MAGIC DANCE, PINEAPPLE THIEF might be worth a peek in case you missed em
