December 31, 1974.....Beacon Theater...NYC

Recommended Posts

I have a ticket stub from the Beacon Theater in NYC from 12/31/1974, it's torn in half and the group name is gone.

I tried everything and can't find any concert listing from the Beacon Theater on this date.

Can anyone help out ?

thanks in advance...

Wow a mystery New Years Eve show.

No help from me but a cool mystery nonetheless.

Well it took a little leg work but I believe it to be this:

Sgt_Pepper%27s_Lonely_Hearts_Club_Band_o

From what I have read this show ran for about six weeks at the Beacon and the last show was ironically or not New Years Eve 1974.

Quote from this article,http://www.meetthebeatlesforreal.com/2014/02/before-there-was-beatles-love-in-las.html :

"It was a sad day for us all indeed when, on New Year’s Eve, the closing notice for “Sgt. Pepper” was posted on the call board backstage at the Beacon Theatre. Reasons for the closing were never articulated t the members of the cast, but all plans for the tour were also shelved, and so in early January of 1975, the last performance of “Sgt. Pepper” became a beautiful memory for us all."

Amazing job, I found just about every other concert in NYC that night. I wasn't even thinking it could be a show.

thanks a million.

Hey no worries and I did to, had to go deep deep into the Google and make some leaps to get there.

SO how was the show?

Sounds like the audience was a who's who of then rock stars including the Beetles themselves.
