This won't be easy. I narrowed it down to fifteen. I think Harem Scarem's debut takes it, but look at that list! This is precisely the reason I don't bother rating albums. Fifteen albums I couldn't live without.

Michael Jackson - Dangerous
Tyketto - Don't Come Easy
Harem Scarem - Harem Scarem
KIX - Hotwire
Mr. Big - Lean Into It
Neverland - Neverland
Bad Angels - On the Rail
Richard Marx - Rush Street
Danger Danger - Screw It!
Skid Row - Slave to the Grind
Steelheart - Steelheart
Savatage - Streets
Giant - Time To Burn

Bryan Adams - Waking Up the Neighbours
Genesis - We Can't Dance

An absolute no brainer for me....Harem Scarem. This is what I would call a perfect album, but would love it to get re-recorded like they did with Mood Swings.

Other great ones were Saigon Kick - s/t, White Lion - Mane Attraction, Van Halen . F.U.C.K. and Danger Danger - Screw It! (although half that album sucks while the other half is some of the best melodic rock ever)

Not the most amazing year but the top 10 will be pretty tasty.

I reckon for me it will be a 3 way battle between The Storm, Harem Scarem and Kane Roberts.

I love all 3.

Um, are there two bands called Bad Moon Rising that both released self titled albums this year?

Don't know what you're talking about. ;)

I gotta check out this Drive She Said band. Their name always made me think they were Modern Rock.

The debut is the only one worth having imo

What does it typically go for?

Without seeing the rest of the albums from the year, based on this list alone, anyone who thinks 1991 wasn't a great year is out of their goddamn godforsaken mind! There's about 6 all-time favourite albums in that list alone! Is it even legal to have those Harem Scarem, Kane Roberts, Europe, Casanova, Danger Danger and Dare albums all from the same year? It shouldn't be.

In fact I wouldnt bother with any of them - I just rated the debut at 77.5%.

3 or 4 great songs but a lot of weaker tracks too imo

Yeah, from all these threads it's not one of the bands I'd be aching to track down. Like you say, some brilliant songs in their discography, but a lot of clutter too. You could make a brilliant EP out of their first two albums. Don't even bother with the 3rd.
