One of the greatest discs I have ever heard in my life. Almost perfection.

Well I'm probably in minority here but I think this is one of my least fave Dokken CD of the 80's. Stuff like "Dream Warriors", "Heaven Scent" and "Night BY Night" are first rate pop metal, but then there are a lot of filler too. I even think Don has stated somewhere that "So Many Tears" is one of the worst songs they ever recorded.
Been a while since I listened to this but I probably wouldn't rate it over 8...probably somewhere between 7.5 and 8.

Great thread, great album, 'Night By Night' is the massive classic tune for me.

Dream Warriors - yeah its OK, but the subject matter. Jeez. Something for 12 yr olds maybe. Yeah! Im a Dream Warrior ;-)

 

LBTW - the chorus is just a bit drab......isnt it? Will have to re-listen.

 

Mr Scary - well its an instrumental....again OK, but when you heard it 10 times do you really need to hear it again?? Skip.

I give it an 8.It just seemed a little too long for me.I think if it was shortened by 3 songs it would've got a better rating from me.

Just listened to the whole cd tonight just to partake in the poll. Its probably been 20+ years since I have listened to this all the way through.

 

This is my 3rd favorite Dokken disc. First one being Under Lock and Key. They could have left off Mr. Scary (this is a blatant filler for me). I remember even when this album was new I did not play it that much. I would always go back to their older stuff. Its a great cd but I find their others to be more satisfying.

For me the best album Dokken made. I like it more than Tooth and Nail, for instance.

The last of the great albums by Dokken. Every song has a great guitar solo in it. I love every song but my least fav is Burning Like a Flame.

The only track that lowers the rating for me is Night By Night with its kiddie level lyrics.
