Well we promised a lot of things coming in the summer. Shows/festivals, New albums, new Kivel artists, more shows. ETC ETC....So with the recent upcoming releases, LaValle, No Love Lost and of course Adriangale. You'd think that would hold us over, right? WRONG. We are happy to welcome the latest addition to the label (and all around super talent), House of Lords guitarist and New England native, Jimi Bell!

 

Kivel Records is pleased to announce Jimi's new vehicle, Breakwall! The band will be releasing its debut album in Late 2013 just in time for the holidays!! This will be a hard-edged, straight ahead rock band, with all the big production arena rock trimmings one can hope for!! More details on the band, album and yes SHOWS coming soon.

So a week ago we announced BREAKWALL. The new Jimi Bell band. We received a lot of feedback and emails. Most of all, WHO is the singer for Breakwall. We talked to some people, this guy, that guy. Cousins and friends of friends that come ...highly recommended. All good in their own right. However, we just didn't want a singer/frontman. We didn't care if he was a well known star or never heard of him.

 

We wanted someone that clicked! We wanted a friend, a brother from another mother. We wanted that chemistry that only comes along every so often and is rare. That has only been found in few. Most of all, he has to be able to sing his ass off!!! Captivate a crowd. Move a listener to tears, or get them pumped with energy and fists in the air screaming for more. It became very clear when writing down what seemed an impossible wish list. For a nonexistent individual, as if asking for a unicorn for Christmas. That's when it clicked, such a person did in fact exist!

 

We are very pleased to announce not only is this person the singer of Breakwall. This is a reunion of sorts, of two kindred spirits that are meant to perform with one another. Who both have a lot more to accomplish together. So please welcome Jimi Bell's old partner in crime , Joined Forces frontman - Livio Singer, as BREAKWALL's madman mouth piece and master of ceremony!! We promise to deliver the end of this year. Look out, the cat is out of the bag and the dog is off the chain!

BREAKWALL is coming folks!! First we announced Madman and Breakwall mastermind Jimi Bell leading the charge. We then announced that he would be joined by his brother in arms, the cat with the charisma and mouthpiece to grab everyone’s atten...tion, in the vocal chair, Livio Singer!

 

Now of course everyone knows that every, marriage, company, sports team etc etc….and most of all BAND needs a strong solid backbone. A “driving” force if you will, to help hold such energy as the above mentioned together. One would suggest the needs of a hard hitting backbone, right? RIGHT! So without getting longwinded and wasting any more time in announcing BREAKWALL’s Drummer. We give you, BJ Zampa!

 

This man needs no introduction as he has played with such greats, as Dokken!! House of Lords!! Yngwie Malmsteen!! Robin Trower, and the list goes on. Solid as they come and hard hitting like a heavyweight champ! Only to be rivaled by his business sense and good guy nature. A welcome addition that is rivaled by few. BREAKWALL is one piece close to filling in the holes. Then it's GAME ON!

The beginning of the month, we announced a new act to KIVEL RECORDS. That band was BREAKWALL. Led by, guitar wizard, Jimi Bell. Along with Vocalist Livio Singer and Drummer BJ Zampa, Breakwall was almost complete. Having a Drummer as grea...t as Bj Zampa is a score for any band. However, with every great drummer, there must be a partner in crime. One that can lock in and help drive the foundation of the band and its music, one that could add something to both the music, and live performance. Names were thrown around, and suggestions made. Some were even considered. However in the end, the answer was right under our noses. It made sense. Hey, it was a proven formula that didn’t need any tinkering. Why make the same mistake as “NEW” Coke. Ain’t got time for that!!! So welcome the final piece of the puzzle to BREAKWALL…….Mr. Chris McCarvill.

 

So now, with all the members announced and the chest beating has been done. What next? Simple…..BREAKWALL is going to record an album that we promise is going to satisfy all and disappoint NONE. The band and labels mission is clear…bring back the excitement. The energy…the madness that made Hard Rock / Arena Metal a force that dominated the 80’s and early 90’s. We want to bring back that feeling. When buying an album use to be an experience, sometimes even magical. Sadly ALL GONE, Sterilized by the powers that be, for our mindless consumption. Cue Pink Floyds “Another Brick in the Wall” >HERE< as these 4 guys are about to bring back some of that Magic. Get ready to end 2013 with BREAKWALL!

Yep Breakwall is out in 2014 and this band is 3/4 of HOL with Bassist Chris on vocals and will be out this fall.
