Here is a long poll for you to feast on. Took forever to compile. This is one of the best bands out there. Have been a favorite of mine for a long time now. So I decided to do a poll.

First off, it's era vs era. The first era, or the mellower years, is comprised of the 1st three discs. I intentionally left off all of the tracks on disc 2 that were on disc 1.

Era two is comprised of their next 3 releases, the final of this era being the last with original guitarist Thomas Silver.

Era three is the last three releases, including the brand new disc out today. These three feature ex-Crazy Lixx axe-slinger Vic Zino.

What is your favorite Hardcore Superstar era??

The second part of the poll is favorite tracks from each album. I intentionally left off all of the tracks on disc 2 that were on disc 1.I also did not include any bonus tracks.

So peoples..... have at it!!!!

This one needs a bit of research. I basically dislike everything they recorded before the s/t disc, but my favourite era would be the current era for sure. They actually seem to get better with every release, in my opinion.

Been following this band since pretty much right from the start (Thank you for letting...), so this is pretty tough.

I went with the following choices:

1) Though I'd count "No Regrets" to their first era, I went with the second era. Although I think they haven't released an average album since 2005, I'd rate the "ST" and "Dreamin' in a Casket" as their finest efforts to date.

2) & 3) I own "Bad Sneakers...", but haven't listened to it in ages, so these choices were kinda random.

4) Definately "Shame". Sensational and vastly underrated track, which shoould have been a hit! The album as a whole is quite average though.

5) I really like this album as I went through a special time in my life around its release. I chose "Breakout".

6) Fabulous disc! Went with "We don't celebrate Sundays", but there's hardly a bad note on this album.

7) Dito! "Silence for the Peacefully" is my choice cut, love its intro-riff and the chorus.

8) Very good album as well, but a couple of fillers imo. Went with "Shades of Grey".

9) Dito! Chose "Last call for Alcohol".

10) Haven't heard the album yet, but for the sake of it I voted "Above the Law".

Choosing the era, I had to go with the most recent - 'Beg For It' is awesome, so too is 'Split Your Lip' and from what I have heard of the newie there are some anthemic gems. However I was slightly torn as 'Dreamin In A Casket' is still me fav HS album.....just perfection.

And so to songs.

Its Only Rock n Roll - Someone Special (even if it does sound like Oasis, its still a great song, and good live too)

Bad Sneakers - Liberation (love this tune)

Thank You - Dear Old Fame (great ballad. But I must admit that 'Not Dancing, Wanna Know Why' gave a hint of things to come.....kick arse tune and of course 'Significant Other' is a good tune too)

No Regrets - I Can't Change (closest to what was to come, but I also really like 'Why Cant You Love Me' and 'The Last Great Day')

From this point onwards though is when they became a truly great band, from here on it becomes VERY difficult to choose a fav from each album, nigh on impossible in fact, but here goes -

Hardcore Superstar - We Dont Celebrate Sundays (well it had to be really. But how stupidly brilliant is 'Bag On Your Head'....one of my favourite tunes of all time lol. And 'Simple Man' and 'Standin On The Verge'....man that solo is just killer!)

Dreamin In a Casket - Sorry For The Shape In (god this was almost impossible. the title track is perfection, 'Medicate Me' is awesome, 'Spreadin The News' is brilliant and 'No Resistance' has one of the best riffs of all time. Virtually flawless album and the pinnacle of their greatness imo)

Beg for It - Dont Care About Your Bad Behaviour (this was slightly easier as this song is soooooooo awesome. But it could easily change places with the title track, 'Shades Of Grey', 'Illegal Fun'...how awesome (?)...and 'Innocent Boy'......seriously f good album!)

Split Your Lip - What Did I Do (some will think me mad for not choosing a song off the first half of this album cos they are all great, but man I love this song! That riff, that verse, that chorus......100% HS!!! Cannot remember last night....think I acted like an arsehole. Classic)

Newie - Long Time No Seen (still not really heard it properly, but this sounds like a future classic to me!)

100% love this band......everyone blahs on about Crashdiet and Crazy Lixx, but for me HS still rule....and having seen all 3 live I can honestly say these guys are the best.

Sadly the new album has been average for me so far. Hoping that a few more listens will have me enjoy it more...

As they say, you can't polish dogshit. Just spare yourself the wasted time and dismiss it. ;)

I discovered them during C'mon Take On Me which for me is leaps and bounds over anything they have done up to then, so I had high expectations for the next one.

I've been through all their older stuff and it certainly varies from album to album, and most of it I like, but not to the level I like C'mon Take On Me

Guess I wait for the next album :)
