To me Nordic Metal is plodding shite like Jorn writes now

The latest album is pretty shithouse, hey? I'd just call that plodding, poorly thought through hard rock, though.

For me, the nordic rock/metal is that gallopy, chanty type of viking rubbish. The Poodles have been known to do it, and 'Battlegrounds' on the Eclipse CD is a perfect (and ugly) example of what I refer to.

The WET sample is brief as a sexual encounter with a porn star would no doubt be, but it sounds awesome, as expected. Can't wait to hear this new one.

Wow I guess I like Shithouse and Ugly music because I love Jorn and find the new Eclipse almost flawless and that even means the "Battlegrounds" song.......

Have you heard 'Bring heavy rock to the land?' I like Jorn as much as the next guy, but this is a really, really... really weak disc. Surprised if you had much good to say about it.

Actually I had held off getting that one based on some reviews but there were several that were positive as well. I did just order it after I had some free points available to me on amazon so I guess I'll find out in a week or so. But I like metal much more than you and dislike AOR more than you so are tastes in music aren't always in the same place.

I've always had plenty of time for Jorn, though, but I just thought this was really weak. It's not like the songs are offensively bad or anything - just poor quality songs. I'll be interested to hear what you think.

I bought that newer 2 disc/CD/DVD Sweden Rock release and it was just okay. The set list was kind of boring and he seemed to pick the same similar type songs and DVD wasn't really exciting at all. I like Jorn too and kind of wish the Sabbath/Heaven&Hell guys would have done something with him after RJD died but to be honest I actually prefer his first two Masterplan and the one Milliniem releases to most of his solo albums. And I'm still waiting for him to make that definitive killer solo album.

Yeah, for me the moment he shared with Millenium is probably still my favourite hour from him. Masterplan have always bored me, though. :(

It is a very good track and bodes well for the album full.

Tiny criticisms are that I was expecting the solo to blow my balls off and it didnt, and again it does reek of EM - that riff is becoming a tad over familiar.........

Still a solid 9/10.

On a side note I do hope that JSS handles most of the vocals as I prefer his voice.

Haha. You and your solos. ;) I don't even notice if songs have solos or not anymore. A good one always stands out, but in general it's a redundant factor for me these days. Nice when it happens, but not essential at all.

But what is this about the JSS voice thing? I thought that odd, but is he not handling all the vocals this time around? Why is that? I would also prefer to hear him across the board. A few years ago we were getting a bit of JSS overkill, but it's settled now and he would definitely be great to hear all over this. Worked perfectly for the debut. If it ain't broke...

Erik Mårtensson:

"Will start mixing the upcoming W.E.T. live DVD this week. Meeting up with Pontus Norgren to get all the files. Cheers!"

Recorded in Stockholm January 17th.
