My Stuff on HubPages.com

I started posting nonsense about heavy metal and bad movies at HubPages three years ago today, starting with this review of Stryper's then-current THE COVERING CD:

http://fatfreddyscat.hubpages.com/hub/Stryper-THE-COVERING-Big3-Records-2011

More than 100 posts later I'm still at it. I've come a long way baby!!

Thanks to everyone who's continued to read my ramblings. Y'all rock.

Congratulations, always an interesting and entertaining read, next goal 200?

Lord only knows, I've got enough weird crap percolating in my head (and my CD/DVD collection) for at least that many entries.

Anyway, it's been awhile but I posted a new one this week:

"Verily, preparest thou for a most righteous kicking of ass, varlet!"

I recently picked up Dirty, But Well Dressed, the only CD by the one-and-done hair metal band Beau Nasty... inspiring my latest "Forgotten Hard Rock Albums" entry.

Here's my newest HubPage action... I picked up a CD copy of KISS' long forgotten KILLERS comp last week, so I wrote a review of it, cuz that's what KISS nerds do. :D

Picked up some sweet 70s cheez rock (and one 80s classic) at the thrift store last week.

New one... here's a warning to my fellow beer drinkers to avoid this particularly noxious cheap brew!

I found the so-called DISC GENIE "CD Repair Kit" at Walgreens' this past weekend and decided to give it a try on a couple of banged up discs I had laying around... I should've saved my money.

New entry ...though actually this one has been in the works for quite a while, I only just got around to finishing it yesterday.

A few months back I overdosed on a bunch of Italian gore movies by the infamous Lucio Fulci and this was the result:

I've been listening to a bunch of Cinderella this week so I sez to myself "Hey Self, how 'bout you do a HubPage about the Cinderella Discography?" ...and poof, it is done.

So the new Accept album is out today. I don't have it yet, but I did update the crap outta my old HubPage entry about Accept (which was written prior to the release of Stalingrad - note the URL!) and brought it up to date:

Apparently Bradley "The Hangover" Cooper is in talks to portray long running paperback action hero Mack Bolan (aka "The Executioner") in a movie. I used to love that book series when I was in high school (and I still occasionally read one today) so I couldn't help myself, I wrote a quick fanboy blah-de-blah about it...

Good stuff Keith, I've been absent way too long. So how about an article about Vinney Vincent.

Thanks man... I haven't written an entry all about Vinnie, but I did give him some props in my entries about KISS' "Creatures of the Night" and "Lick It Up" albums.

Nice write up. I just shared it over on the Men's Adventure Paperbacks of the 70s & 80s Group I frequent on Facebook, where news of the Bolan movie has been a hot topic of conversation. I was a fan for years, but eventually turned my literary attention to action-thrillers that were less formulaic and more strongly plotted, but I'll still be buying a ticket if this actually gets made ... despite the planned, and off-putting, PG-13 rating.

Cool man, thanks. I just checked out that FB group and I may join that one myself, haha.

I haven't bought a 'new' Executioner book in years but if I come across them at a yard sale, thrift store, etc. I usually pick some up for old times' sake. I was totally addicted to the series (and its related spin-offs, i.e. Able Team, Phoenix Force, etc.) when I was in high school though.

Slow Day at Work = New HubPage.

This is about my experience thus far with walking to lose weight, aided by the "Runkeeper" fitness app:

New one... my Mom recently uncovered a scrapbook from my junior-high days, full of clippings and pix from when I almost made it to the National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. - seeing all that old stuff inspired this piece.

Two new entries in as many days! I must be inspired. :D

Anywhoo, last night I was mostly unimpressed by SyFy's new zombie show "Z Nation" so I figured I'd post some thoughts on it...

Consider your mission accomplished, 'cause I had completely forgotten about Die Happy. When they hit the scene, I was pretty much only into melodic rock, so I never cared for them, but over the years my tastes have expanded to include all sorts of heavy metal, so it's probably worth giving these guys another go.

My kids loved this silly made-for-Lifetime-TV flick starring the sour-faced Internet feline. They told me I should review it on my blog, which sounded like a good idea to me, so I did:

I attempted to watch this last night, I fell asleep. I thought it was funny those rocker dudes talking about the VH singers.
