Great review as I love this album and really every song with maybe only "Long Way Down" just being okay but everything else is stellar IMO. Everyone is saying that Gene's songs are better than Paul's but IMO Paul's are just as good and he has my favs "Hell or Hallelujah", "Freak" and "Last Chance".

New one!

I stumbled across the trailer for the upcoming "Silent Night" (a supposedly "loose" remake of Silent Night, Deadly Night") this evening on YouTube, and it inspired my newest blog about Christmas releated horror flicks... hope y'all dig..

"Silent Night, Deadly Knight" is a classic in my book. Love the sledding decapitation scene. This remake was already on my radar...I will most definitely be checking it out.

By the way, loved the line "Something shocking in their stockings" from your Hub. Nicely done!!

Thanx man. I haven't seen the original "Silent Night, Deadly Night" in years but I'm interested in checkin' out the remake... and I understand that the first two films are about to be re-released on a single DVD to capitalize on the remake, so I may be checking them out again soon too.

Take my word for it, you never, EVER want to watch "Silent Night, Deadly Night 2." It basically reuses nearly an hour's worth of footage from the first film. Yes, you read that right--"Silent Night, Deadly Night 2" is basically a flashback of the first movie. I couldn't believe my eyes when I rented it, way back in my college days. Easily one of the worst sequels in horror movie history.

Unfortunately, I've already seen "SN,DN 2," though it was years ago. If memory serves, its only saving grace is the legendary "GAAAR-BAGE DAAAAAAY!" scene... :rofl2:

Yeesh, I have had no time to do any new HubPages lately with the holiday season in full swing, but this is kinda funny: I got a semi-trolling, pro-Geoff Tate (!) comment on my Queensryche article that I posted a while back about the split with Geoff.

The article can be found here: http://fatfreddyscat...HE-Both-of-Them

Some of the highlights from this dude's extremely lengthy ramble:

"What kinda fans were u? Not long ago u guys wanted to give Geoff a knob job, but now ur hating him! Bunch of lame phonies! Good luck with ur tribute band! I'll wait for Geoff's version of Ryche... and ya all will be jumping on the bandwagon when it smokes the REAL version of Queensryche."

Uhhhh... yeah, okay. Thanks for dropping by. I'm sure Geoff is proud to have someone so eloquent in his corner.

Dang! I haven't posted a new Hub in over a month! Time to get the train rollin' again with a Metal Preview for the first quarter of 2013.

My first ever book review. I just finished this excellent (although depressing, infuriating and horrifying) book on the infamous "Great White Nightclub Fire" in 2003 and had to say a few words 'bout it.

"Fear the feather haired giant guitar man who rises from the sea and turns palm trees to solid steel!"

...yeah, it's another installment of wacky Awful Heavy Metal Album Covers.

Many of those I hadn't seen or heard of before.

I guess the Black N Blue and Love/Hate don't bother me much.

I think the Black N Blue cover just irritates my O.C.D. more than anything else. It looks like a photo, but it's a painting. But WHY? Are the guys that ugly in real life that they needed a painter to touch up their images?

...these are the things that bother me late at night when the power's off.... :D

The "Awful Album Covers" post earlier this week was my 100th entry on HubPages. So... am I rich yet? Nope. Have I learned anything from the experience thus far? Possibly.

For my 101st installment, I present a Guide To Doing Everything Wrong on HubPages.

I updated my "Meet the New Queensryche - Both Of Them!" entry to reflect the latest changes in the Geoff Tate camp...

Make sure you vote in the "Which Version of Queensryche Will You Support?" poll towards the bottom of the page... so far the Todd LaTorre version is kickin' Geoff's ass.

Megadeth announced today that their new album will be out in June... so I sez to myself, "Self, Megadeth would be a good topic for another 'A Brief History of So-And-So' band Hub!" and so it was.

After catching bits & pieces of the "Lemmy" doc (and several others) on VH1 Classic this past weekend, I wrote a blog about Ten Great Heavy Metal Documentaries.

Some of you might remember a couple of years back when I announced that I was quitting smokeless tobacco... well, that attempt failed miserably, so I'm givin' it another try. I figure if I wrote a blog about it, then I'd have to make it stick this time cuz otherwise I'll have to admit my failure all over the internet and look like a schmuck. Anyway, it's been seven days thus far and I haven't killed anybody yet!! Onward and upward!!

New One...

The last time I saw Stanley Kubrick's legendary sci-fi mindf*ck 2001: A Space Odyssey, I was about twelve years old, and... I didn't get it. Thirty years later, I finally decided to give it another spin, aaaaaand.... I still don't think I "got" it, but I wrote a HubPage about it anyway:
