i was just wondering this but does kevin have some sort of deal or whatever with kivel records? or why does rock fest always feature so many of their bands?

Because the Kivel bands are AWESOME!! Seriously, I may be way off base and Pete would obviously know more but I think the Kivel bands have built up a pretty good following in this area due to them playing DRF and they really show an interest in being/playing here.

I think that's pretty much on target. Kivel started building his relationship with Kevin a couple years ago when Rockarma and Bombay Black played and kept it going from there. I believe Kevin likes dealing with him because he takes care of the logistics with his bands, and all the bands he puts in the lineup do their best to bring their A game to the show... excet FarCry, those guys suck.

...except FarCry, those guys suck.

At least FarCry has been replaced with Far Cry this year so we don't have to worry about those guff speaking work slackers!

Is that the band from Seattle with Ronny Munroe from Metal Church?

It would be awesome especially if they had Peter Fry playing guitar.

Unfortunately that would again be one of those "Don't hold your breath" moments. <_<

bret michaels has just been added to the lineup! apparently he is now the friday headliner.

Sounds good to me! Upping the ante, and kicking some ass!

That sure does help the lineup and he was good last year and brought in a great crowd so that does help a lot IMO. So 3 great bands on Friday in a row with FarCry, Lita and Bret.

Where did you get this info? It's not on the website.

Bret called me. ;)

Actually it was announced on a Sioux Falls radio station yesterday at 4 pm.

Nice to see Wildstreet on there. Looking forward to seeing them.

Who is the Black Mollys and why did they take FarCry's spot?

Is this a new band or a tribute band? Can't say I've heard of them.

Also nice to see Asphalt Valentine on there. Their songs on myspace sound good and have read good things about them.

Agreed, very cool to see Wildstreet and Asphalt Valentine on the bill.

Black Molly's are currently touring Europe in support of Enuff Z'Nuff, kind of a modern rock via Cheap Trick sound.

Two bits of news here:

1. Mama Kin has been confirmed as playing DRF 2010.

2. Alex has left Tango Down!!!!!(so I have no idea who is replacing him).

I wonder what happened here. It's a shame I like the guys voice and loved that last disc with him.

Well... looks like the chances of me being at DRF have increased quite a bit. :beerbang:

I'm gonna say we are about 80% at this point.
