Just got the self titles album by a band called 'Strke Twice'. It's really good attitude-soaked sleaze/melodic rock.

I believe they were formed sometime around 1985 and the material on the CD was material from there on . They reformed with three original members in 2008 and here we have the CD again thanks to Eonian Records....

Yeah, there's a few threads with info on these guys, but as noted they were formed in the mid 80's although most of these songs are from 1989 onwards. If you ask me, this is easily the best Eonian release so far and I'm a huge fan of these guys. I hope one day the songs from the early years will see a release on Eonian too as they are every bit as impressive as the stuff on this CD.

Michael (Vocals), Rob (Guitar), and Trixx (Guitar) are still gigging east coast as STRIKE TWICE.

Wow. Still writing new material? Is there any chance of a new CD at any time?

Here's another one...a few good tracks but nothing that great, yet most seem to think this is great stuff.

Maybe I am in a bad mood this week. :(

It's not my fav of the Eonian releases but it's up near the top and yeah there's a couple of just okay songs but it's fun to hear lost unreleased hair metal like this.

Here's an interview I did with guitarist Rob Luv in December... :)

Even if the songs on the new record were written back in the late 80's/early 90’s, to me the album doesn't sound dated at all: are they newly recorded or were they just “polished up” and completed for this release?

These collection of songs where all recorded in the early 90's, to say they were "polished up" would be an understatement. The people at Eonian did a fantastic job.

What was it like being in the studio recording the songs and what are your thoughts when playing the album today?

We always had fun. However one time we booked a 48hr slot in the studio, by the end of the session I don't think we talked to each other for weeks.

Is the entire band involved with getting these songs together in 2009?

Yes, we all went through our boxes of stuff to find the tapes, it really is amazing how much we held on to.

So how did you get with Eonian Records and how does it feel being finally signed?

A close friend of ours started a Strike Twice myspace page and soon after that we hooked up with Steve. I tell you it feels great, to have ours songs on an album really feels special.

What was the rock scene like in New York when Strike Twice formed?

It was cool. The clubs were packed, the fans were great, and diners were open all night.

How hard was it to get Strike Twice noticed among the wave of bands coming from the Sunset Strip?

I get asked this question a lot, It was impossible. We tried all the tricks in the book and invented new ones and it got us nowhere. Until now.

What kind of industry challenges have you gone through as the band Strike Twice?

You know the saying " it's not what you know, it's who you know". Well that statement is not really true. It's more like it's not what you know, or who you know, it's who knows you. As in you last question I was hard getting right people to notice.

You were still together as band when grunge hit: at what point could you tell things were over for bands like Strike Twice?

I don't know if I could blame Grunge for Strike Twice's demise, it was more of coincidence.

What was it like for you when you realized the change would mean the end for the glam/street era?

I was out in LA with a close friend of mine. He had joined a band that was fronted by a big name singer. They had just finished a demo, and it sounded amazing. I really thought this was gonna be a big break for my friend. After month of shopping it are round and getting no major interest I knew the scene was over.

How did Strike Twice eventually break up?

There is a set amount of time for any band to be together. We just reached that point.

What did you do when Strike Twice was over, was it time for a 9 to 5 job?

I went back to school, got a degree. The other guys started their own businesses.

Why did the band reform after all these years? What's different today?

I was always reluctant to get the band back together. I always kept in touch with everyone. We would talk about it and laugh, but then one day we said why not..

You guys working on another album?

We have been writing some new material although I don't know if it would make it to an album.

Will the band be doing any European dates in the near future?

We have been looking for sponsors, and/or promotors in hopes of being added to a tour. We just have to keep our fingers crossed.

 Pwned.

Actually, have to side with SUICIDE here. I thought the artwork was excellent, and fitting too. Yes, the band has a bunch of glam hard rock tunes like Poison... but they are not the songs featured on this CD. The tunes on the CD, using Poison as an example while we're on the subject, are more in line with 'Flesh and blood' era Poison than 'LWTCDI'. Now, hopefully their earlier tunes are released and this crappy designer can show us something a little more glammy.

Amateur designers suck. Almost like the designer used his toes and fingerpaints to design that cover.

Yes. They are New Yorkers. They did not want the over 'glamourous' look as those songs are not from that period of the band. That is what the designer told me anyway, that git.

Agree with you on this. That writer almost writes like Geoff. And that is terrible. Off with their heads.

More like the 'ROT' of the problem.

:rofl2:

You will get your good trousers dirty rolling around on the ground like that.

hey all....I've jumped on here from time to time...I had never seen the interview Rob had done....I was the "close friend" of the band who started the myspace site in the early 2000s....but in fact..I was the bass player in the band from 86 to late 88..for those who have the 1st demo "once is never enough"..thats me....I love the songs from that period..."Toys",On the prowl,R u ready..to name a few...and I loved the songs thereafter. I was really hoping that the Eonian release would have included that time period...but I was not asked, ..even though...I was the person that informed the rest of the band of Eonian's interest..and had a number of conversations with Steven fromEonian.. I was part of the 2008 reunion show...myself, Rob, Mike, Trixx.and Randy......but soon after...the band chose to continue the Strike twice project without me...I would have loved to stay involved..but that's the way it went. I still would love to see some of the older songs see the light of day....as I feel Eonian did a terrific job with the other tunes....and..for what it's worth...I know there was some great demo artwork done..I think Suicide did a lot of it..and it was Amazing....take care-Gene

Yeah, I'm lucky enough to have heard some of these older tunes too, and like I'm sure I said above, I would LOVE to hear these ones officially released. I really, really dig those older tunes.

To this day, imo Strike Twice is still definitely the best Eonian release. Why not strike twice with a 2nd album of older songs and have the best two albums on the label?
