Blonz - Any fans of this band?

Any fans of Blonz around here?

I remember reading about them in some mag in the early 90's but they seemed to dissapear rather quickly.

I'm just hearing the cd for first time and it's not to bad either. Nothing mind blowing but if you like New Jersey era Bon Jovi it should be up your alley.

Sambora would probably dig these guys.

This is one of the best 1 cd wonder bands in the rock genre. Fans of late '80's Bon Jovi would love that album. I would rate it a 9/10.

Wow that good huh.

I noticed over on the main site that there were quite a few that felt it was average.

First couple songs are cool ("Miracles, Hands of Love") then it just starts to get pretty forgettable. I remember finding a bunch of BLONZ CDs in a pawn shop in Michigan and inside everyone were BAD ENGLISH self-titled discs!! Some sort of manufacturing error... how could anyone confuse the two?! ;)

I initially bought BLONZ for the Kansas connections: Steve Walsh and Phil Ehart were involved, but didn't exert much influence on the band's sound (unfortunately).

Their album is ok, but nothing overly special.

Couple of cool songs, but nothing essential!

Its not an album I would get rid of, but it wouldnt get played that often either!

after finding a download, i gotta say.....im not too keen on this.

its good, but not as good as Bon Jovi or Blue Tears..

I think it's better than all of the Bon Jovi albums since "Keep the Faith".

They don't sound exactly like BJ like Blue Tears do.

Oh dear!

Crush is at least a proper Bon Jovi album, not Pipe and slippers music like the unholy album!

I never heard TLFR but all the bad reviews kept me away.

I did buy Crush when it was released and played it quite a bit for a few months but now I can't listen to it.

have you listened to the new version of Lay Your Hands On Me? its an excellent arrangement. other tracks i like would be WantedDead Or Alive, It's My Life and Bad Medicine.

but Livin On A Prayer and You Give Love A Bad Name really sucked on that CD (Jons voice sounded really out on YGLABN, Doncha think?)

if you listen to TLFR as a Bon Jovi album, then youwont like it....but as an acoustic album, its pretty good...its just not what you'd expect from a band like Bon Jovi.

No.

Tesla Five man acoustical jam, FM No batteries required & Firehouse Good acoustics, they are good acoustic albums.

This left sounds shite was not even an acoustic album, let alone a good one!

I remember reading an interview with Jon when it came out.

He said they had planned to do an acoustic CD initially, but then decided instead to do different arrangements and include other musical styles.

I fully understand why they did it, and even appreciated why they did (as Jon said, they could have just released another greatest hits package with one or two new songs on it like the record label wanted), but I sure dont have to like it.

I like lots of other musical styles, but that album just makes me want to fall asleep or vomit!

Every other Bon Jovi album, including Jon and Richies solos, I love, but that one......nah!

Not all that familiar with Blonz, I vaguely remember seeing ads for the album in magazines back in the day.

However, if I'm not mistaken, when I saw Warrior Soul for the first time in the Fall of '93 (touring for the massively unpopular CHILL PILL album), the original lineup of that band had fallen apart while recording the album so Kory Clarke was fronting a new lineup that included two guitar players, both of whom came from Blonz.

Anybody out there able to confirm that one? I forget if Kory intro'd the new players that way when I saw them or if I read about it somewhere else later on but I'm fairly sure that some of those replacement guys in Warrior Soul did time in Blonz.
