How about neither? Although both of them were part of the biggest 80's glam metal bands they are two of the least talented frontmen in the genre.

I have to say I somewhat agree.

Went with Vince because their music was better.

Neither one of these frontmen(I refuse to call these guys vocalists) deserve to be in a poll for vocalist or singers, unless the question was "who is the worst vocalists/singers?"

If I have to vote for one of these guys I'd vote for Michaels because at least he tries, Neil on the other hand misses about have the lyrics if you've ever seen him live.

Out of respect for the fans of both bands on this board, I'm going to stay out of this one

Hmmm!!! Vince Neil gets my vote only because of the competition and not for the quality of his said vocal abilities??? Both pretty much as bad as each other.

As a huge fan of both bands and both dudes I can look at them for vocal reasons alone and say Bret Michaels for sure. No, neither are technically good vocalists but I much prefer Bret's voice. To be honest, I always loved his voice. And on the ballads he sounds like he really means it.

Bret may not be an extremely talented singer, but if you want to hear what really bad singing sounds like, stop by my house some morning and listen to me in the shower. (Just don't peek in the shower, or you'll be forever wondering why I'm not a porn star. ) As Geoff said, when Bret sings those ballads, his voice is believable, moving, even poignant. Even after hearing it hundreds of times, I still love "Every Rose Has Its Thorns" and "Something to Believe In." Bret's ballad vocals are far superior to those of Vince Neil.

Vince because he has a little bit of a better range. Most of Brets songs are sung in the same level. Although he does kick ass on those ballads.

  • 1 year later...

as much as i like both Poison and Motley Crue....both of these guys suck

they sound great on record (cept Brets southern drawl does kinda annoy me at times...like Every Rose..), but live, both of them suck immensly...

when i saw this thread, i thought it was gonna be Axl Rose (although not as great live as on the records), vs Seb Bach, vs Mike Matjivec.....now THAT would be an interesting poll
