    Midnite City

https://soundcloud.com/user-252536491/mc-soundstream-1 https://www.facebook.com/midnitecityuk Formed in January 2017 by current Tigertailz front-man (and former Vega, Steevi Jaimz and Teenage Casket Company member and songwriter) Rob Wylde. Wylde approached friend Pete Newdeck (Newman/ Eden's Curse, Blood Red Saints,Khymera) to produce three songs for him to shop to record labels. Wylde sang, played guitar and bass on the recordings whilst Newdeck played drums, provided backing vocals and took care of the production. Wylde also brought in newcomer guitarist Miles Meakin who played guitar solos on the recordings and former band mate James Martin (Vega) who laid down keyboards on the tracks.Mixed by Newdeck and mastered by Harry Hess of Harem Scarem. The songs were then sent out to labels and garnered considerable interest across the board, resulting in a deal being inked with German label AOR Heaven. With a record deal in place, Newdeck officially joined the band as drummer in the Spring of 2017, alongside Miles Meakin on guitar and Shawn Charvette on keyboards. With the line up now in place, the band began work on their debut album at PNP Productions in Tewkesbury UK, completing the recordings in June 2017. With a sound that the band describes as 'Timeless, melodic rock/ hair metal', MIDNITE CITY cover all bases when it comes to this much loved genre of music. From ultimate feel good, party rock anthems, to brooding melodic rock monsters, to spine tingling power ballads, they are all here in abundance, and then some. With an album release being planned for October 2017, MIDNITE CITY Have already been booked for shows in Europe and the USA in late 2017/ 2018. Sit tight. This is just the beginning... *Mark Stevens (Powerplay magazine) June 2017*
  2. Nine Lives is a melodic rock band from Winnipeg Manitoba, formed in 2008. The band is made up of brothers Damien and Tristan Rivers and long time friend Kevin Roorda. Tristan and Damien’s musical influences range from Bon Jovi, Honeymoon Suite, Harem Scarem, Danger Danger, and Warrant, to Pain of Salvation and prog metal. Nine Lives manage to craft songs that capture the spirit of their major influences without sounding dated. Their music consists of big sounding guitars, strong arrangements, and wailing solos courtesy of Tristan. With strong song writing and catchy melodies, Nine Lives perform songs that people want to sing along with. With a sound that expands with every song they write, Nine Lives is a well-rounded and versatile band with tunes ranging from rock anthems to ballads, and everything in between. Their 2nd album Crazy After Midnight out now... https://ninelivesband.bandcamp.com/album/crazy-after-midnight http://www.ninelivesband.com/

  7. I recently discovered Timothy J's COAR show in the US (stands for Creative Original Artists Rock ) which I'm loving - he supports unsigned and emerging talent and is so fun to listen to. His blog is pretty entertaining reading too (http://coarradio.com/home.html) Then there's Rock Chicks Radio which airs from Germany and has a really great mix of bands (http://rockchicks-radio.de) with the Easy Monday show playing a lot of new bands and established ones. Rock Melodic Radio from Greece is the other one I've found that I listen to regularly http://rockmelodic-radio.com but does anyone have any others that they could recommend when I'm wanting a fix of either unsigned/unknown bands or established ones to widen my knowledge of AOR and heavy rock?

  17. Since the video with snippets of the mixing sessions was presented yesterday on my FB page, I feel good about letting this particular cat poke his face out of the bag a little. Earlier in 2013 I was approached by Alan Kelly (founding member and drummer for UK Melodic Rock legends Shy) about providing lead vocals for a new project he was working on. Being a sane person, I accepted. Now, many months later, the project has a name (which I will divulge later) and the album is in the final mixing stages (as evidenced by Alan's video that I shared yesterday) and I am very excited about the impending release! All songs were written by Alan himself, and the recording also features ex-Shy bassist Roy Davis! I think you guys are gonna dig this!
