  1. The first 2 licks really grab you, and the ending run finishes up strong. I can definately buy Dan Huff as the player. Thanks, guys.
  2. Being unable to find the answer on the web, I will ask the musical brains on this board; Who played the guitar solo on Kenny Loggins "Meet me Halfway" ? It sounds like Lukather, but I just dont know. Cant find the credit anywhere , either. Does anyone know ? Come on, confess, you've listened to it , too.
  3. There is a lot of Greg & Richard headhunter guitar influence there for sure ,as one would expect. And personally, too - good ole (young) boys. Real happy to see them get to where they are !
  4. if these were already mentioned, sorry Queensryche - Op Mindcrime - "Eyes of a Stranger" Aerosmith - Rocks -"Home Tonight" Night Ranger - Dawn Patrol "Night Ranger" Badlands S/T - "Ball & Chain" ? A BIG thumbs up to : On Fire, Tell no Tales,I Need You, and La Villa Strangiato that others mentioned.
  5. Max Carl - Fantastic song What a great lite/ aor song it is ... the way they step up into the key change at the end hooks me every time. Someone told me he was the guy who sang 'Curly Shuffle" can anyone back it ? but back to the original question : Don by a mile ! Equal in degree to the Bad Co. poll; to me, its just not .38 without Don Barnes.
  6. i love Brian Howe's voice...but it just wasnt Bad Co anymore ! His vocal on "Caught up in Love" by Ted is pretty good, too. (note) just read his quotes ...whoa ! ridiculous is about all I can come up with there. so are Stevie Ray Vaughn & johnny Winter not "real" bluesmen ? come on now...
  7. REO was the soundtrack of my h.S. years, so Ive been so overexposed its hard to be objective. Saw them 3 times. i did like Nine Lives, even though most people I knew went for the gajillion - selling Hi Infidelity. I liked the live versions of the old stuff better ie: Golden Country, Ridin' the Storm, Keep Pushin' etc. Saw them on PBS not long ago & Kevin Cronin played Time for me to Fly usin only his thumb...all the way through.I thought it was kinda funny.
  8. the 15 strings from Nashville therabouts with Chris Carmichael as violin / frontman ? ! I have heard several of these tracks before - the sound and production was fantastic... I saw them at a local club way back in the day ; I'm guessing '92 or '93 - they put on a great show !
  9. Ok, I must show my cluelessness now; what else has Mason sang on? I prefer his voice to Logan's.

This reunion was not a thing I really wanted to see happen... but figured it probably would.
  11. Actually, i'm going with the debut by a country mile.
  12. I had always read that is was Keith Moon that said that not John. I had to check into that one for my own curiosity : Both Moon and Entwistle were present at the time, along with Richard Cole. in Zep bio 'Hammer of the Gods" , the phrase is attributed to John (the 3 were hanging out at a club partying, so who really knows) Actually, I had the phrase wrong, it was "we'll call it lead zeppelin, because it'll f*ing go over like a lead balloon"as he was referring to an imaginary band of Moon, Entwistle, Page , and Steve Winwood that never happened. Cole relayed the idea for the name to Jimmy and he saved it until the legendary foursome was unleashed on the world. boy, I really boogered up John's last name in that post , huh !
  13. Another grayhair comes out of hiding... I : Communication Breakdown Good Times , Bad Times II : Heartbreaker Ramble On What is and what should never be III : Immigrant Song Since Ive been lovin' you Out on the Tiles IV : Black Dog Misty Mountain Hop When the Levee Breaks (even though it is derivative) Houses : Over the Hills and Far Away The Ocean The Crunge Physical Graffiti : The Wanton Song Custard Pie The Rover Prescence: nobodys Fault but mine achilles' Last stand In Through : Carouselambra South Bound Suarez dont forget Coda ; Candy Store Rock If you have a chance to get 'When the Levee Breaks, 15 classic tracks that inspired Led Zeppelin" it is worthwhile to hear where a lot of their ideas came from. It was an insert in 'Uncut" magazine, so I dont know how many of them are floating around loose. But it is quite interesting. 'It'll go over like a lead zeppelin" - John Entwhisle
  14. I forgot about Eric Gales Band and wow - Hard Corp !! from my ole stomping grounds, Nashville ! I didn't figure anyone would come up with them ! I am trying to remember what they were called after changing their name ... Anyway, the Hinder thing - I would've sworn I saw a Hinder video a few years ago and they were a band of young white guys wuth a black singer with silver - dyed hair...and it was an AOR / lite metal sounding song, but I have been wrong before.
  15. Anyone see the 'Tonight Show" appearance Fri. night ? ugh ! the 'Oh Yeah' shouts were even out of tune ... Guess I'll just keep spinning "Not of this Earth" & "Surfing" to get my Satch fix. Sam's voice may be well past its prime, but if I can sound like him when I'm pushing 60, I'll be happy !!
