My Top 16 best of 1995 (in alphabetical order)

Arena - Songs From The Lions Cage
Bon Jovi - These Days
Conception - In Your Multitude
Enchant - A Blueprint Of The World
Fair Warning - Rainmaker
Faith No More - King For A Day, Fool For A Lifetime
The Flower Kings - Back In The World Of Adventures
Fu Manchu - Daredevil
Gotthard - G
Gov't Mule - Gov't Mule
Marillion - Afraid Of Sunlight
Monster Magnet - Dopes To Infinity
Savatage - Dead Winter Dead
Slaughter - Fear No Evil
Spock's Beard - The Light
Van Halen - Balance

Honourable mention:

Iron Maiden - The X Factor

As Grunge was ruling the world by now (which isn't my thing), it looks like I was getting into the more niche Prog scene by this point, rather than following mainstream conventions. These albums from the likes of Arena, Enchant, The Flower Kings and Spock's Beard remain favourites to this day.

I thought I'd mention Iron Maiden separately as, whilst it's not a particular favourite, there's some good stuff on it but overall the album is too long, and Blaze Bayley's voice does add to the monotony. If Bruce was still present, it would probably make it into the main list.

Excellent album. Drum machines always hurt an album for me, but if you look past that it's magnificent, and stupidly consistently high in quality, song after song.

Nice list, mate. Kinda harsh on Rage 'causeafter BIM they produced more killer albums in a grandiose repertoire. I've seen them 6 times, last when celebrating 20 years since the release of this album. Perhaps, you should post your 85 list, since we caught the decades then.

Slim pickings for me in 1995 - here's what interested me in alphabetical order

Firehouse 3 *

I'd be interested to see if that remains there after you play it back. I always thought it was okay too - it does not stand the rest of time. I love the closing ballad, but could basically leave the rest, to be honest. Weak album, imo. Only their first two are worth a thing from these guys, sadly. :(

O2 and Prime time were goog (Imo).

I could pick an EP of songs I like from those two albums... and a 4 song EP at that. ;)

1. Loving You Is Paradise
2. Call of the Night
3. Crash
4. Perfect Lie
Not really into any of the other songs at all.

Yep. Just listened to it yesterday to see if he was right. Of course, no surprise, he was wrong. It's a solid effort.

Geoff is right. The debut is easily their best and for me the rest of their releases are patchy and inconsistent. There's usually a great track or two, maybe 3 on all post debut albums. Shame, could have been a great band.

Of course I'm right. ;) I absolutely adore those first two albums and their sound and style, and wish they had been magnificent for every album afterwards... but they just really, truly weren't. 'I live my life for you' and maybe 'No one at all' are the only songs from '3' I ever really need to hear again. For the most part, the rest is okay, but nothing that needs repeating, sadly.
