My shortlist for 1981 - some absolute KILLER albums featured during this year in music. A massive year for me - back then was a time when releases werent so aboundant so you actually got to spend time with an album and truly come to love it.

I reckon it will be a toss up between classic AOR - Journey Escape - and classic hard rock - Triumph - Allied Forces.

Both brilliant albums imo............

  1. AC/DC For Those About to Rock We Salute You
  2. Black Sabbath – Mob Rules
  3. Def Leppard High 'n Dry
  4. Dokken – Breakin The Chains
  5. Foreigner 4
  6. Iron Maiden - Killers
  7. Journey Escape

From 1978-1986 is so difficult to narrow down to just a handful of releases each year, as it is completely my defining era of music and so many classic albums were released. I've cobbled together some sort of order and these years albums have pretty much remained my faves for the last 30 odd years

Was Wrabit ever released on CD? All their albums are available at my local bookstore, but I thought I might try to track them down on disc. If that's possible.

Yep...All 3 as Jap imports...pretty costly now. 'Tracks' was released on the dodgy Renaissance label a while back and that is fairly easy to get, which I advise yuo to do ;)

Maybe I'll get then on vinyl first, as they're only about $7 each, I think. Actually, I might even have Tracks already, but just haven't listened to it. I need a pre-amp for my turntable.

A small list as I don't own much from this year. Black Sabbath, Rush and Y&T are the highlights of this list for me.
