1994 - Best Albums

Recommended Posts

My Top 15 best of 1994 (in alphabetical order)

The Black Crowes - Amorica
Cinderella - Still Climbing
Alice Cooper - The Last Temptation
Dream Theater - Awake

Fates Warning - Inside Out
Freak Of Nature - Gathering Of Freaks

Fu Manchu - No One Rides For Free
Live - Throwing Copper
Manic Eden - Manic Eden
Marillion - Brave
Axel Rudi Pell - Between The Walls
Megadeth - Youthanasia
Savatage - Handful Of Rain
Roine Stolt - The Flower King
Tesla - Bust A Nut

I'd probably consider Marillion's stunning concept album "Brave" to be the best release this year, as most of the others from the established bands are good but not their best.

  • My Little Pony

Electric boys take number one spot. I have yet to find a Stoner Rock album as good as that, and therefore believe they've recorded the only example of said genre worth listening to. Transit also released a fucking monster of an album, as did Cinderella, and Tesla dropped my favourite of theirs this year.

Impellitteri - Answer to the Master
Telsa - Bust A Nut
Transit - Catchfire
Electric Boys - Freewheelin'
Glenn Hughes - From Now On
Savatage - Handful of Rain
Heaven's Wish - Heaven's Wish
Slik Toxik - Irrelevant
Motley Crue - Motley Crue
Blind Gypsy - Never Coming Home
Brett Walker - Nevertheless
Sly - Sly
Cinderella - Still Climbing
Tyketto - Strength In Numbers
Intuition - Turn It On
Whitecross - Unveiled

Bolt Thrower: … For Victory

There's the number one right there. Awesome. Struggling with any of your other picks though, with the exception of the rather lovely Youthanasia.

Testament - Low was another goodie, but it was a pretty average year.

I assume Sam at Retrospect got a heap of copies of it as he's had this for sale for ages here (in the $15 section):

I actually forget where I got my copy now, but I think it was here and it's basically mint condition. If that's where I got it, lol. Killer disc. Excellent price too.
